I'm researching plugins and other computer recording info. I chose Reaper as my DAW, and subscribed because your tutorials are detailed, so here I am. MT Power Drum Kit is where I was heading, but this kit sounds good, and has a wide variety of sounds and programmable options. I'm not looking for "grooves", but want to program my drums. One thing I haven't seen specifically mentioned is hi-hat "chick", where a drummer only taps the hat with his foot. Have you come across that hi-hat option, besides open or closed? I'm just starting with computer recording even though I'm old and retired from the music biz. I'm not going to download a thousand plugins to then search through when I'm looking for a specific sound for a purpose. I want an organic sounding drum kit to select from, and would rather not load a bunch of drum plugins just to delete them after I find that they don't offer the things I'm looking for. I want specific coloring for every instrument, and a drummer chicking is something I want for some things. I played bass for a living for decades, and recognize drums all too well. A drummer playing rhythm on toms sometimes chicks time on hi-hat. It's a specific thing which I haven't seen as an option on reviews thus far. Your reply will be appreciated.

enjoy your videos, I downloaded this Steven slate free version I have a question my e drum kit is the Alesis Nitro mess kit I'm running Windows 10 using Reaper as my software, everything is working fine through the software I just have one issue in the Steven slate drum set you see on the computer screen the small symbol just above the high hat is coming out as a splash symbol I do not like the sound trying to change it to a crash symbol I've tried the mapping with no success just shows a message you want to cancel mapping I can't do anything unless I close it. So I'm not sure how to change this symbol sound when I hit my crash symbol on my kit it gives the sound of a splash so I just want to change that to a crash what is the easiest way to do that thanks hope you can give me some suggestions keep up the good work.

Wasted an hour on the install. Have more than enough drums and percussion but thought I'd give it a try to follow the video. After signing up for an account, do the install, open up reaper (and than updating reaper to 6.27) The SSD UI inside Reaper says it can't find the instruments. Went to the folder path specified, not there. No clue where SSD put the instruments, and after an hour wasted on the subject uninstalled SSD. Think I'll run Norton now.

Hi Kenny! First off, thank you for all the tutorials. They ALL have been immensely helpful on learning Reaper. One question I have that I have been having trouble finding is how to record the midi and have it record the midi notes to the grid. I understanding being on time with the metronome can be a factor, but even when I just hit the snare to the metronome the midi notes are always off. Currently using a Yamah DTX502 electronic kit, Clarrett 18i20, and the block size in Reaper is set to 64 for e-kit tracking. My biggest issue is that the quantize function gets confused with some of our full drum parts, and manually adjust every note is incredibly time consuming. What else can I do to fix this issue? Thanks!!
