I also have a tri five truck. I like following you and watching your progress. I’m surprised you didn’t epoxy prime it, with catalyzed automotive paint, like dp90, and then paint with a urethane single stage, catalyzed automotive paint. Also a great opportunity to do some “In The Shop” powder coating.

Nice - wire wheel for the win! Looks like it was a relatively clean housing to begin with. Ive seen them with literal chunks flaking off.

Absolutely. Yeah my work truck is a GMC 2500 that came from up north and the rear end is like that.

Is it just me or did that sound mess up at the end. Good work, will be onteresting to see how the rattle can holds up. Eastwood makes some HEARTY stiff that holds up well in this application.

Yes it did… BIG TIME!!!😡 This happens often and its always when there is a sped-up scene (spray painting). The most annoying part is that it doesn’t show up in editing… it only happens after uploading. Apologies!

Where do you get the 5x 4.75 axles for Chevy?

There are a few options, 1-you can order custom axles. 2-you can re-drill your axles using an inexpensive template like this: amzn.to/47SAp1O. They work great but you’ll need to do it off the car and find a way to chock up the axles plumbing in a drill press. 3- You can do it on the car - they make a special jig that works fantastic but its more expensive (usually a little over $100). The issue with any of those options is if you are using factory brakes, you’d have to re drill the rotors too, and drilling cast isn’t aa straightforward as steel, some people advise against it at all. If you’re going aftermarket brakes - like a Wilwood dynalite kit, then no problem (except that those brakes are like $1200 lol. Good luck and let me know what you decide!
