Rear Brake Lever Repair On My Ducati SuperSport 939

It happened a year ago now, but it's taken me a long while to get over it and share it with you… I dropped Boe trying to do a tight u-turn and I was out of practice. I bent the rear brake lever and decided to replace it myself. So this is my personal experience in learning how to replace the rear brake lever and its pin on a Ducati SuperSport 939.

It sure did. For shorter, smaller people like me, I think they are such peace of mind for incidents such as these. And it protected the expensive fairing compeletely, thankfully. They look kind of cool too.

Do a vid on heating the bent one and getting it back to shape, or did you chuck it out?

Spydey I kept the lever as a souvenir, but it was actually the pin that was most bent. On closer inspection, I probably could have re-used the lever but it's a light alloy and I thought it safer (and cheap enough) to just replace. I don't plan on having to change it again either!!!!

Yeah...been there. Lol Huh...you're supposed to put your foot down? Sliders. Great investment.

You can put your foot down, I guess, when it can reach! But it's a heavy bike (for me at least) and hard to catch once it starts going...

Hi Stace! I had same problem but unfortunately the inner trade of the rear brake frame where you screw in the pin, is stripped. I would buy an other pin but do you have any suggestion how I can fix the inner trade? I guess I need to buy a new rear brake frame! I love your spotless working area! Thanks!!

Sorry to hear you had this problem. I'm not sure if you can tap a new thread in where that footpeg mounting plate screw goes in... I remember it was a fairly hefty torque... this is a question for your mechanic. Good luck!

Actually, ask your mechanic if a helicoil could work.
