You know I've watched my share of bike tutorials and have learned things about bicycles I would never have dreamed of learning. Your video on rear derailleur adjustments was SO easy to understand. So from one DIY person to a master bicycle mech, thanks for that
@simply_the_dev75883 жыл бұрын
Finally I understand. Other videos didn't say close the adjusters first. That is what I needed this whole time because I couldn't get the right adjustment and now it all works perfectly. Thanks. It was the closing the adjusters that i didn't know.

Absolutely the same for a mountain bike, the shifter is doing the same thing.... It just looks different. Barrel adjuster being closed just means it's tightened all the way down, this is so you can open (loosen) it to remove slack from your cable after you clamp it. Glad you enjoyed!
@ExcitedPunch10 жыл бұрын
Instantly cracked up at the mechanic guy trying to hold a grin while the tools change. Hilarious. Besides that, excellent video- explained some things, like barrel adjusters remove slack by loosening, give slack by tightening, that I couldn't find a single damn brake adjustment video that DID explain. Super basic thing to need to know. Glad you guys actually went though every single step.

More videos please! Maybe spoke truing? Orrrr explaining different shifter /gearing types ( I see lots of online questions on " what's better? ALIVIO or....." Or " how is the SRAM Line different from Shimano?" ) I think your videos are really clear and well made, good length and when I saw your vid on headsets I appreciated how you easily explained the covers/ bearing etc...many don't bother showing people what's under those rings and they will never really understand how to fix stuff if they don't know what's actually happening! I was sad when I subscribed and only saw a few videos. More please!

Good video. I have two rear wheels, one with a 11-25, and one with a 11-28. I think I have a problem getting into the lowest gear on one of these. I suspect it's an issue with spacers on the cassette. Should I be able to switch these wheels around without any issues with the gearing?
i like your video on adjusting gears, I come from riding single speed park bikes and have lately been moving back into my old ways with DH/freeride so learning how to keep my gears happy has been a new endeavor. One thing i can never find info on is what does the third limit screw (pivots the derailleur on the hanger) adjust? and how do you adjust it properly?
@LonewolfAZ520 Жыл бұрын
I'm definitely going to watch this and fix my shifter problem. Cant get the resistance I want. I find myself pedaling fast but the low is only getting 3 gears while the high is not helping move the chain.

After this video I did some research and found the B screw. Even at full turned in, it still relatively tight to the big gear. I am wondering if it needs a longer screw or if something is wrong with the derailleur
@evankizer87259 жыл бұрын
This video was really helpful. It's the first time I've ever properly adjusted my bike lol It didn't cover the other other limit screw. Another video said it was to keep the jockey wheel about one centimeter away from the sprockets while on gear 1 (highest gear?)
@sweetsbench12 жыл бұрын
Make sure the seatpost, seatpost clamp, or frame isn't cracked. Then try some carbon assembly compound on the seatpost and in the seat tube - without grease (clean the old grease out). It's gritty and helps things stay in place. You can get that stuff at any decent bike shop.
@richardkandalec41284 жыл бұрын
Nice job. I would probably lube first to be sure the derailleur moves freely. I have worked on some that are rusty and stick that could affect smooth movement.
