Daniel - Those axle mounting plates take a "humpack" leaf spring bushing, not the multi leaf type which u have. That nubbin' is for the centerbolt on a multileaf spring, as I'm sure u well know it, locates through a hole in the bottom and top spring mount plates. If u lop off that nubbin and use them as pads...please be sure and make sure the top and bottom bushings are holding that spring tight since there is no centerbolt. If you order the humpbach style Leaf spring pad "cushion" it will help to locate the axle fore and aft. This is the voice of experience, don't let your axle shift all crabways on ya.... bad 4 the fenders.

You can drill new holes in those spring pads and move the rear end back 1” to make the wheels fit better

If you are going to be running caltracs bars, like you are, you really should run rear leaf spring sliders. In order for the type of (traction bars) you are running to operate properly they have to be paired with sliders. If you don't you will have wheel hop like crazy. I have been running them for years in my second gen Camaro.

Those alignment bolts are why those cars always run sideways going down the road.. even when they were new. I never like messing with the Chevy II because of their goofy front and rear suspension design, Great video as always!

Dan you can move axle back on spring buy redrilling perch hole , than weld up old hole. Wouldn’t go more than 1/2 inch, should get tire were it needs to be , double check shock mounting and tank clearance, might save from a bunch of wheel well mods.

My falcons have the same style washer on the front spring pocket. I drilled out the frame side to take a straight bolt and welded the washer into the bracket.

To help w your rear tires scraping the front of the wheel openings, maybe you could drill holes in the upper and lower mounting plates and the rear would sit a little further back on the springs. Some aftermarket plates are sold w multiple holes, usually a hole in the center and holes an inch ahead and an inch back.
