Rear Suspension is Fully Assembled on my Off-Road Lamborghini Huracan

In todays episode were fully assembling the rear suspension and cross braces and bump stops for the long travel off-road huracan.

From a lifetime of designing, building and racing offroad cars in various classes I can tell you that the hardest job for the chassis is hanging on to the suspension mounts. And the bigger the wheel, the harder they are to hang on to. The guy they had design this kit actually did a pretty good job. Never mind the travel or the geometry, his real conundrum was how to distribute the point loads at the spherical heims to the lightweight aluminum/carbon chassis. Boxing the aluminum square tube to create a connected cage of steel at each corner was actually pretty inspired.

The rear toe adjustment outer heim joints should be vertically oriented. This build is 100% better than previous with it's cnc cut parts but it still really should be built in a jig

This is awesome. I have to wonder what kind of axles are going to be used. Obviously they will have to be custom made. Either stocks ones from a larger truck and modified, or totally custom made, or maybe there are off the shelf parts for this type of vehicle? Either way I am stoked to see this thing roll out! I do want to see the max height this beast will be at, I hope that appears in next video.

How are you going to stop the galvanic corrosion? Or is this build not intended for long term usage? Even a thick coat of paint underneath the mild steel reinforcement plating is not going to stop the dissimilar metals from corroding.

Did you say 102? If that things got a 102 track width that's why it is a semi truck. You can take that puppy on the road. provided you have all of the required clearance lights and fenders and stuff to make it legal in your state.

seems odd to weld the bump stops in place for two reasons 1) sort of an issue if you need to replace it 2) the heat from the weld affecting the gas inside.

Aren't you concerned about having 2 dissimilar metals making direct contact causing one to corrode the other one away? especially where you made the repair in the frame rail when you cut out and replaced the aluminum.

@Jaxon Kennedy This, but with triangle shaped "pipe" would be SICK. Don't know if the rules would allow it. But if they do, then it would be pretty easy. Use 90 degree "L" iron and weld a flat plate to it. Use gussets where the corners meet. Might have to do some kind of stress relief from welding to get the metal in the right soft/hard area to function right (remove brittleness from the weld areas), but it's totally doable.

Cool build. But wonder if the original aluminum frame gonna hold it structural integrity after some high jumps. Especially in it juntion to the tub. Probably it would be better building an exoskeleton around the car, to reinforce the frame.

I really hope that you use some paint to "isolate" the Steel parts from the Aluminium ones before fully welding everything, steel + aluminium is a big no no, i know the galvanic corrosion takes time to happen but you never know!

Looks like the raw metal part they're welding to is a tube the part drops into with a retaining nut on the bottom. Had me worried too at the beginning.
