Hey guys, Jim from Import Image Racing! Welcome back to the channel. In this week's video, we're diving into the installation of the SuperPro 22mm rear sway bar and Whiteline HD end links on our 2021 Subaru WRX. Another sunny day turned rainy, but that won't stop us from working! Classic! Anyway, water spots won't ruin our mod day.

Take your car to the strip and test it. The sticky track will show you really quick that your setting on the street will differ from what the variable conditions on the street show. For instance, I get the "perfect" launch on my ej205 2.5 RS at 4300rpm on the street, netting a 1.89 60ft almost every time, as long as it's dry. On the strip though, I need to drastically turn up my launch control and I'm still fine tuning. From run 1 at 4300 to run 2 at 5000, I picked up a 1.847 60ft with still more rpm to add before it's "right". I believe the gains you are seeing from the rear sway bar are the thicker bars preventing body twist, and allowing the power to get to the wheels faster. I doubted the results at first until I really thought about where the loss was being made up. Either way, I love testing like this. This is what sells a product to someone like me.

Hey Brandon, thanks for the comment! Street and strip are two completely different animals as you know. I have a ton of experience with high powered turbo and nitrous mustangs both on and off the street. This WRX being more of a “street car” 😂, I enjoy the forgiving nature of un-prepped surfaces. But who am I kidding… I’m sure the car will make an appearance at my local strip very soon!! 🤘🏻😜🤘🏻

i cant say as to hollow bars being more prone to breaking, but i can say the only sway bar ive ever broken was a solid bar. the VA does need a full set of bars out of the box, and eibach makes a nice set of hollow bars which set to their lightest setting will allow you to take cloverleafs and roundabouts at well over the recommended speeds.

Good looking out! Link is fixed 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻 As far as color options… Blue is what you get with Super Pro! Cobb offers a VERY similar product in black, but it’s a few extra penny’s. 😉

Perrin and Hotchkis come to mind right off of the bat. I believe both companies offer hollow and solid bar options, so read the fine print carefully 🤘🏻

For a daily sti would you go front and rear like the white line kit? I heard rear 22 helps with understeer but can make it unpredictable without upgrading the front too

I highly recommend a front and rear sway bar combo for daily use! The car in this video is built for 1/8 racing so the rear bar is much more critical to launches. Whiteline or Cobb are great kits and will drastically improve your cars handling.

Stiffer sway bars will reduce body roll, but I'm pretty sure they are equally important in balancing understeer and oversteer. In your case a stiffer rear sway bar will reduce grip in the rear giving the car the potential for more oversteer. I'm not sure about the wheel hop reduction, but I don't think it will do much for that. I think stiffer bushings and some other components will do more.

You are correct, front and rear sway bars are a tool that will significantly improve the overall balance of the car, and it feels great! In my experience, upping the rear bar diameter and stiffness will greatly improve your short track in drag racing applications. Usually, the cars I’ve performed these tests with have SUBSTANTIALLY more power than my car has 😂! The bottom line of this series is to create a well balanced vehicle for my driving style. I believe this modification will become much more of a factor in videos to come. Thank you for your reply! 🤘🏻

Absolutely! A proper set of swap bars is a game changer on any suspension.
