You may also use! A tire iron and a hammer, put the scooter on the engine stand or if you don’t have that lean it on the frames kickstand, install the iron onto the lug nut and give it a wack with the hammer. Do this to tighten and loosen it.

First off, Thank You for such an informative video. I have some suggestions that i think would help. Lubricate the wheel threads. Remove the exhaust before using a wrench on the wheel. That way you dont need an extension ( loses torque and harder to use ) The last thing to put on is the exhaust, after the wheel has been secured. Kicking the wrench is a bad idea. Put a pipe snugly over the wrench handle for more leverage. ( this makes the handle longer ) With all of my suggestions, you helped and i like how you mention to recheck the wheel after 25 miles or so. Sometimes a machine will or will not require an early on adjustment and it is always wise to check any nut or bolt after a short break in period. In this case you are potentially saving lives, thanks again.

Hi Kevin, thank you for the suggestions. I will keep them in mind :-) Would you like more of my videos to be made in English too? I am not sure if there is an audience and if the hard work, it takes me to translate the videos, is always worth it. But when I read such a brilliant comment, like yours, I automatically assume it is worth it :-D

@@der-andyman Hi Andreas. I dont own a scooter, my neighbor does. I am moving soon so i wont have the need myself. However ! your video was so well done that i am certain other scooter people would appreciate more of your videos. I have looked online a few times for my neighbor and the need for videos like yours is there. The photography was excellent. The rest was very good too. Many video tutorials are jerky and hard to follow. Again, excellent production work and your accent was legible and enjoyable for an American listener.

@@KevinGCoxen thank you very much. As you might have guessed, I am German. And hearing that my english speech is pleasing a native speaker is soooo awesome. Thank you for that. Really.

Use an impact wrench on the wheel nuts , it will make it alot easier for you and save you time
@der-andyman4 жыл бұрын
Yes, I own 2 of them, but I am trying to show these repairs with common tools. impact wrench is more of a specialised tool :)
@althompson7314 Жыл бұрын
@@der-andyman Precisely! The point is that the average Joe with simple tools can do this job! Also, you don't want to use an impact wrench to tighten the wheel nut, as that must be done with a torque wrench to get the proper torque. Also, retightening after 10 or 12 miles to 75 ft-lbs is also a definite requirement! You do not want to be singing that song "You picked a fine time to leave me loose wheel" LOL!

no need for second person, put a piece of wood in the wheel to stop it from moving

I need some advice because my yy150-12 has the brake out the wheel. I’m not sure what wrong but it’s not my belt or motor. My scooter will move either direction about 3 feet then lock up. I honestly don’t know what I am doing just need advice or pointed in the right direction
@der-andyman2 жыл бұрын
Ok.... Thats a very weird issue. Might be a transmission issue, if it locks up in both directions. I sould not be a problem with the belt or variotor, as these usually kick in at higher RPMs and not when the scooter is just being pushed. Sorry, I dont think I can help you with this, especially because I dont have the scooter here :(

What would be the issue if my rear tire feels sloppy when making turns?

I guess the tire pressure is too low.

y'all laugh at the warning on this video my wheel came off because there's no lug nut when I bought it. you'll lose speed and have time to stop unless you're wide open. don't kick the wrench, slide a pipe in
@nobodyyyyy5562 жыл бұрын
also how'd you know I was from Florida I got off, got it back on after sliding it back on and rode where I was going
@donbatten9322 жыл бұрын
It's not proper to kick your wrench, it can break the axle, and or strip the nut. Do it right use a breaker bar. Don't need a tourqe wrench either, if you have any experience with tightening bolts use you feel and good judgement when tightening the nut on the axle. Only a newbie would stomp on a wrench to break a bolt lose. Respect your tools.
@der-andyman2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment. Although I can agree with you with the kicking thing, I strongly recommend using a torque wrench, especially because most of my viewers should be under the age of 18 and not experienced enough to have the feeling for torque you speak about. Have nice day mate
@althompson7314 Жыл бұрын
@@der-andyman Feel schmeel! Could not agree more Andreas! USE A TORQUE WRENCH! The risks involved in screwing this up are just too high! Interesting that DB criticizes you for stomping the socket handle, then turns right around and recommends abandoning the safe practice of using a proper torque wrench! Hypocrisy personified plus IMHO!
