3/24/14 Just snapped off on my 07 Mazda Tribute hatch window. Seeing this makes me think I can do it. Maybe. I like your video's but Id recommend that you be more careful with the actual camera or cellphone operation as I was getting sea sick watching this one. Clear open views is important too. Ok, I'll give it a try.

That's a hinge not a latch. Latch is what locks the glass to the tailgate.
