So after I DL'd I quickly realized I did not have that sequencer. So I decided to try your sound engine with thor's sequencer. It worked just like I thought it would. Then I discovered that I could not route the Thor sequencer knobs to the combi. (bummer, right?) I was just about to go to sleep when I thought why Don't I try it with the beat step pro? SO I used an RPG8 for a midi cv converter. It is awesome. with the added roll features from the beatstep I had so much fun I used the Green channel for the DFAC and the drums channel UMPF retro. Your sound design on the Complex-1 is amazing.

Awesome!! Tell me more, how does it work? I’ve been considering getting the Beatstep for long time haha so you basically midi map the cc knobs to control the cv? And split the 16 encoders to 8 velocity 8 pitch? This sounds very cool and exciting! 👍👍👍 thanks for sharing and glad you found the combi useful 😊

@@RandomNoiseMusic The beatstep works awesome with reason. My startup file has empty combinators for my hardware controllers. I use a keylab pro MKII, Roland octapad, Beatstep pro, and an ensoniq TS10, I really like the ensoniq sequencer. Every piece of hardware is wired to an empty combinator. That way when I want to create I don't have to set it up. On the best step you can set the pitches, then the velocities curve. I tend to live jam with the beat step and work out ideas, then just track the midi to reasons sequencer to fully develop the idea. I know you are thinking how do I get reason to record the incoming sequence that is hardwired to a combi. The answer is I use the seliq notview player set to direct record. easy peasy. will send a message on Reason Talk with a picture. The link is a post on reason talk.

Sounds like a fun setup! 👍 I have something similar with the Launchpad Pro MK3 + Akai APC40 MK2 in Ableton Live. I was curious because I am always looking for these hybrid solutions that provide tactile experience and the power of the computer/DAWs

was it very difficult?

Not so much. Took me 2-3 hours I would say. I had some challenge assigning the sequencer to control the velocity, which is why I've used Complex-1 here so I could route it to the CV and then control the mixer section. I also had to use two separate sequencers, one for the pitch and one for the velocity to mimic the original DFAM
