I believe it is also explained that the show and comic take place with a separate set of rick and morty. This means the intro is either depicting a different pair than who the story follows, something creators of the show have mentioned, or the two different pairs have that adventure in common, which does happen amongst sets of rick and mortys that choose not to remove themselves from the standard continuity they share.
