Is it considered 'techno' at that tempo? 🧐 probably not, but I've lost track of genres and styles and just refer to most of my music as either techno or trance lol anyway hope you'll enjoy this raw session on Reason. It is one of my favorite methods to explore and experiment with different rhythmic elements and find interesting grooves. In this session I am using some of Kong's hidden jams, the synth oscillators together with some sample manipulation on Mimic. Sequences, the excellent player is also driving some of the randomness madness here.

I kinda gave up defining genres too, there’s too much influence across styles as it is, and we all owe some of them something 😁

Hey man I’m a bit late to the party but this track and video is superb, really cool. 🙌 Could you perhaps explain the technique with Sweeper at around 8:00-8:30? What are you doing there with the Envelope, it magically makes the drums punch like crazy. Thanks so much!
@RandomNoiseMusic Жыл бұрын
Hey thanks for watching and the kind words! I am basically using it as a sidechain to duck the volume down. So the envelope control the main volume of that track and its looping at 1/4 speed. So it's like having a kick activating a compressor to lower the volume at the transient of the first beat, but automating it with this envelope. Hope this helps!

That move you started with in the drum sequencer, aaah! Didn’t even know that was possible, to reduce the steps like that on one line!?! Thanks, I learned something there. Nice build up too 😏

Yess!! That is exactly why I love the Drum Sequencer so much on Reason!! There are of course many ways to create polymeters like that, but having it all in one place together with the probability and other great features is really cool. Thanks for checking it out and glad to know it was useful!

nice, been thinking of getting reason 12 as have only used ableton for a very long time, this helps to convince me!
@RandomNoiseMusic3 жыл бұрын
You can also use them both together! Reason works great as plugin rack inside of Ableton 😃

Bro this is amazing. A quick stupid question..on their page they ad 19.99 euros monthly for their reason + package but the 12 is 500 euros .. i mean are they different? Isnt their subscription for the one you have? (Full of 12) Thank you and sorry bout the stupid question. Keep.em coming love that industial berlin tech with a mix of dnb feel
@RandomNoiseMusic3 жыл бұрын
Thank you!! 🙏 not stupid question at all! I think many got confused by this relatively recent move from RS. You basically have 2 options, you could either buy the full software and own it for $499 (you could also wait for the time it goes on sale) and have the, or get it from other sources for less). That is the is the perpetual option in which you will need to pay every time there is a major upgrade or additional rack coming out. On the subscription model on the other hand you pay monthly or yearly but never own the software neither the racks. The benefit of that though is that every new update or new rack that comes out you get for "free". Plus you get a big library of sounds that is being updated every month. In both cases you will get now the full version of Reason 12. There used to be other tiers with lighter versions but they change it now to have only the full perpetual option or the subscription. If you don't have it already, I suggest trying to get the trial for like $1 per month for 3 months and see how you feel about it. Hope this helps to clear it 😄

@@RandomNoiseMusic wow man did not expect to bother. U a legend. So basically is the same exact daw ecosystem but the one is yours forever the other is like rent and play sub kind of deal with free up2date type of function. Interesting to say the least. I am coming from a complete dawless ecosystem but i needed a second bike so i sold em all🤣 i know pro tools inside out as is the daw we learn on sound production and recording uni. But i find it did not age that well unless u have a huge band. Anw i tried ableton and fl. Fl blows that ableton away in my book if you work strict into the box and dont want to pay for hardware pain🤣 and then i went to a studio to help em master a track and had a reason 10 forgotten in a laptop. So i tried it. Man it was the red pill! I was laying down pads and atmos and dnb high tech hypnotic techno strings in like 20mins. So i got hooked on it. And tmr im receiving my i9 new pc. But that page of reason got me so confused haha. So im gonna go with the sub mode prolly yearly payment. And get me the fl all plugins as is on massive sale. A crap m audio oxygen generic. And i will supplement my pain of no hardware anymore haha. You the best man. Really thanks for clearing this out. I was gonna do the 500 euros with me thinking it was like the suite version or smth superior to the rent and play one like a sucker🤣

@@raven-jz6cv keep in mind that Reason 12 perpetual (the 500 dollar option) does not include all the rack devices that Reason has previously developed. However, the Reason+ subscription does. When they introduced Reason+ they discontinued both the Reason Lite and Reason Suite option, so 500 Dollar Reason 12 is actually the mid tear option missing some devices!
