I am more willing to keep the heat off and just bundle up more then run the heat. It isnt that I cant afford to run the heat, I just think it is easier to stay warm then it is to stay cool. I dont compromise on AC though. If it is above 80F, i am running my AC 100%.

Bae just spent all her money on that video she released recently. I just wish she considered survival first lol. The video probably could be done at a later time
@jasonkeith2832
@jasonkeith2832 7 ай бұрын
That video has been a full year in the making, well before she moved to Japan. At the time she moved to Japan, likely most of the upfront costs for the art, music, animation, editing, and mixing had been paid, and she more-or-less needed it finished and released to not delay further and make some of the cost back.

She used that 1M yen money she got from the lottery, she couldn't bhave used it anywhere else. No what she spent money on is doing the paperwork for getting approved for buying a house AND GETTING IT RENOVATED. Reminder that Japan just love bureaucracy and paperwork. And the best way to get past it hlis and has always been slipping a few people a 'paper handshake", paying "gratuity tax", giving "thanks" to "hardworking public servant". Of course it's not bribe, bribe means you have a choice in the matter, lol. Anyways, at least Cover's helping her smooth things along and offering her an Airbnb. Hopefully she's fully done the paperwork before February starts and she can focus on her birthday activities.
@jasonkeith2832
@jasonkeith2832 7 ай бұрын
@@janematthews9087 While there is a certain level of "bureaucratic spending," Japan is also notorious for running those processes on 40+ year old infrastructure and mediums. Like all doing some forms hand-written, and using fax to transfer information between departments.

@@HDreamer It's actually not that bad. I live in a modest apartment in Kichijoji, which is part of the greater Tokyo area (less than 20 minutes by train to Shinjuku), within about a 10-15 minute walk of the station, and my rent is roughly the equivalent to $650-700/mo. Granted, it's too small (and not-soundproof) an apartment for someone like Bae, and I also got a pretty great deal on this place when I moved in (and since basically all of Japan is rent-controlled, my rent will never go up until such time as I choose to move out). But it's really not at all uncommon to get rent prices below 120,000 yen/mo in the greater Tokyo area, which is under $1000/mo American. And if you go slightly outside of the greater Tokyo area, but still within easy access to Tokyo by train (Saitama, Nishi Tokyo, Chiba, south Ibaraki, etc.), rent can be absurdly low -- we're talking in the $300-500/mo range for a pretty sizable place!
