In practice, there’s an infinite number, but you’d have to travel further and further out to find them. What kind of pattern she’s searching in will affect how difficult it is for other ID members to find Elytra close to the portals in future.

There's no ban but there's an agreement that kaela would only farm towards 1 direction. So if the other members want to get elytra, they just have to go the opposite direction of hers.
