I live in the UK and I’m hugely impressed at the way the people of the USA welcome home their loved ones from service abroad. It’s a fantastic thing to see and god bless them for their service. A special mention has to be made to all those brave service men and women who never make it back home.

Being a soldier and returning home from the war counts only when you are far from your home but in your country. When you are outside your country and you are at war on someone else's land, you are a terrorist and there is nothing nice except for your family when you come back, but the dirty work you do remains for God to pay you.

These videos make me cry of jealousy. I was deployed for three years in Italy, and when I came home no one was waiting for me. When I saw my brothers they simply asked, 'what are you doing here?'' When I saw my mother at work to surprise her she said, 'I'm working I'll see you later.' When I saw my dad he grabbed his guitar and starting playing. He acted as though I didn't exist. But the worst was yet to come. When I saw my fiancé she was six months pregnant from a one-night stand. That relationship ended within five minutes. I've never dated since, and I went thirty years without speaking to any member in my family. To this day I have separated my life from humans altogether. I have a small farm where all my farm animals and pets are my best friends. I love it this way. I do not get lonely. And I've turned into a modern day hermit, living forty miles from human contact.

May heaven bless you, Sir! Although I was never a military serviceman, I do know from personal experience the pain you've experienced in that regard. It was the hardest and most bitter experience of my life when my girlfriend and my best friend of 10 years left me to die (seriously) in a hospital after I had been severely Injured and was not expected to live. They both just went radio silent and never visited me after one visit each.even though both were partially responsible for my injury. I only found out what happened months later when I had recovered sufficiently to walk again and was released from the hospital. For me, there is nothing that could hurt worse than the betrayal of those who were closest to me. Much like you, I've lived alone for many years, and I am often called a hermit. These videos do bring tears to my eyes on the ones of the servicemen and women coming home as I've seen several videos of the polar opposite like you have described.

Bawling veteran over here. Back in 1991 my homecoming after Desert Storm was really incredible. About 80 family members and friends showed up to the airport to greet me. It was SO hard to remain stoic. On the way home all I could think of is what a lucky man I was to be alive, and how fortunate I really was for being loved. To all of my fallen Brothers and Sisters of the U.S. armed forces and their families. Thank you for your sacrifice.

YOUR WORDS REALLY MADE ME HAVE CHILLS. I THINK ABOUT OUR MILITARY AND HOW THEY MIGHT FEEL WHEN THEY SEE OR HEAR THAT OUR FLAG HAS BEEN TORN DOWN, BURNED AND DESTROYED BY THOSE THAT LIVE IN THIS COUNTRY BUT HATE OUR COUNTRY. THIS IS SO TERRIBLY WRONG. AND VIETNAM WAS SUCH A VERY SAD AND WRONG WAR. BUT OUR MILITARY DID WHAT THEY ARE TRAINED TO DO. THEY ARE HEROES.

My father was in the Royal Air Force when I was growing up and spent a significant part of my childhood on deployment and even though I am nearly 60 and he is in his mid 80s I still remember so fondly those days when he would return. I would buy him a tie with my pocket money awaiting said return... needless to say I'm sure they where all simply horrid, but its something that still brings a smile to my face!

These clips always hit me right in the feels. My dad was in the Army, my brother served as a Navy SEAL in Vietnam, and I got to surprise my mom when I came home after six years in the Navy, right after my brother had separated. Later, he was offered a commission in the Army and spent a few years in Iraq. We were so lucky to get him back safe and sound. Now, our family’s military journeys are behind us, but the memories are still so vivid. Watching these clips brings it all rushing back. Our Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, Airmen and Coast Guardsmen and their families have all sacrificed so much in the service of and in defense of the United Stars of America. We need to respect and support them all. The Vietnam veterans, in particular, were treated most unfairly and with so much contempt by many Americans when they returned home from fighting in the Vietnam War in the late 1960s and early 1970s and for many years afterwards. If you know any Vietnam veterans or if you come across any Vietnam veterans then please make sure that you say to them / tell them "WELCOME HOME". BETTER YET, WELCOME HOME ALL OF THE VETERANS OF ALL BRANCHES FROM THE VERY FEW REMAINING WW 2 AND KOREAN WAR VETERANS TO THE LATEST VETERANS OF IRAQ AND AFGHANISTAN . AND THANK YOU TO ALL OF THOSE AMERICAN FAMILIES THAT SHARED THEIR LOVED ONES WITH OUR COUNTRY AND GAVE THEIR SOLDIERS, SAILORS, MARINES, AIRMEN AND COAST GUARDSMEN A PLACE, A REASON AND SOMEONE TO COME HOME TO AND SOMEONE TO WELCOME THEM HOME.

Years ago, my daughter came home after being deployed to the Middle East. Because of her orders and my circumstances, we were unable to see each other for over a year even though she was then stateside. When I was able to go to her a year later, I finally felt she was home. Your servicemenber isn't HOME until you can wrap your arms around them.❤❤

At my age I have seen a lot of military officers, enlisted, police officers, politicians, pastors, and many people that help others in the healthcare system and all colors and backgrounds. We need to support those that are helping us not only in this country but on our planet. We all have our own accomplishments I remember a lot of coming home events as my father did for so many years. He is forever in my heart and prayers. My brother and I served together in the U.S.NAVY. So still to this day everytime I see him I remember the sacrifices we both made. We are still on a journey together.

I’ve never stopped crying from the beginning, these reunions are so emotional! Everyone of them are special but the one where the cheerleader was practicing with the others made me laugh and cry! She saw she screamed she ran so fast and I swear she jumped into her dad’s arms before she even got to him and wrapped her arms and legs around him and held on tight!❤❤🙏

Im from the Philippines. I couldnt keep tears from falling endlessly, because my own father was in the law enforcement here in the Philippines for more than 3 decades since the 1970s, he was constantly on field assignments for long periods of time on another province very far from where we lived; he was constantly under high security risk on field assignments, all we could think of is for him to come home safely. And what a joy it always was whenever he returns...Praying for the health and safety of all who are in the service of their countries, and for peace and love in their families to continue in great abundance.

I will never forget the day my Dad came home. I was 4 years old and we My mom and sister greeted my Dad at the Brookley Air Force Base Flight Line. He was stationed in Saigon , for 2 years. Every Day Mama made sure to point out the last photo we had of him and remind us that was our Daddy. He and Mama have been gone for over 20 years now and I just lost my only sibling. Now I am all alone. But I have some really good friends that are my family now.

Those soldiers don't even know how lucky they are to be able to wear fatigues in civilian society without being yelled at and insulted. Vietnam veterans had to change into civilian clothing and were unable to even wear fatigues back in America.

My late father was serving in the RAF at the time this war was on (he never told me where). He remembered watching as the US higher ups were treating the US soldiers that had just flown into the base as failures, treating them as if they were nothing. Then the late Duke of Edinburgh Prince Philip turned up; he met the US soldiers, saluted and talked to them as individuals, treating them with respect and understanding. As a WW11 Navy veteran who had fought in the frontline to save his crew, he had a good idea what these soldiers had been through. Dad was disgusted at how the US personnel were treating their comrades, but proud that the British Forces welcomed them back with the respect that they deserved for fighting a war that many of them were conscripted into, some at a young age. I’m sorry that the abuse followed these veterans home.

In spite of the family separations, long TDYs, and some pretty bad assignments my family and I would do that twenty years all over again. What an experience. What civilians don't understand is that the ENTIRE FAMILY makes sacrifices and serves TOGETHER. This video brought back great memories and not just a couple of tears to the eyes of this crusty old sarge. G-dspeed to all my brothers and sisters in arms and their families!
