@@Iamblakcoffee True. I loved the fact that you didn't sugar coat anything. Ugandans should just take the bitter pill of the truth and go back to the drawing board. They also need to travel and see how systems work.

Uganda is the friendliest and most hospitable country in Africa and has excellent weather and food, something every foreigner serms to acknowledge.. A pity missy saw nothing of this. Might be she's a natural complainant.

Its not fair to compare Kenya with Uganda. 1. Uganda had civil wars and was severely hit by the AIDS pandemic. 2. Kenya has a developed democracy that ensures services reach the people. 3. Uganda is landlocked. 4. Kenya has more cultural diversity, Arabs, Indians, Europeans settled in Kenya 5. Kenya is bigger and most cities have a flat landscape which makes it easier to have good infrastructure.

There are the same number of Indians, Arabs & Europeans if not more in Uganda than Kenya. All of them make up less than 1% of the population combined. The true difference between Kenya and Uganda is the system of governance. Kenya's government is devolved. Which makes it easier for national resources to reach all parts of the country. Kenyans are also more entrepreneurial than Ugandans. They own big banks in East Africa like Equity, KCB & Retail big companies like Naivas. Kenya also has a more educated population & Bigger Diaspora. The Kenyans abroad are organized and supported by the government to invest in Kenya. They own real estate companies which allows them to invest big in Kenya. That's what makes Kenya more successful than Uganda and Tanzania despite having no minerals. If Kenya had Oil, Gold & Gas then Kenya would be the richest country in Africa.

She has forgotten much of the electricity she uses in Kenya comes from Uganda! 🤣🤣😂 This world is round. 😁😁😁😁😁
@MrJairforce
@MrJairforce Жыл бұрын
It’s not much. Most of ugandan electricity is used to stabilize the Busia/Bungoma areas of Kenya. The rest of the country these days is powered by geothermal energy from Naivasha/Nakuru or Wind from Turkana. We haven’t been dependent on Uganda for a long while, in fact we buy a lot more from Ethiopia these days
@Kiriza22
@Kiriza22 Жыл бұрын
@@MrJairforce Uganda and Kenya have maintained power purchase agreements since 1964. From last year Kenya started importing from Ethiopia, but it did not cutt the imports from Uganda. Infact the quantity of electricity imported from Uganda just increased.
@MrJairforce
@MrJairforce Жыл бұрын
@@Kiriza22 Yes and no. The quantity increased, But as a percentage of our total energy mix, Ugandan energy stands at about 5%, down from 34% in the 70s largely due to the fact that our power needs have grown rapidly. The rest of the country is largely self sufficient except Western Kenya, and even they will be connected to the grid once we complete the line from Turkana (Suswa). Add to that the fact that we have Menengai I - IV geothermal plants coming online soon, and we will have even less use for foreign power (Except Ethiopia)
