Reasons NOT to Buy Expansion in DISNEY Dreamlight Valley. Oswald and Daisy are CONFIRMED?

I'm convinced Oswald the Lucky Rabbit is coming to DISNEY Dreamlight Valley, you guys were right! Why would you not get a Rift in Time expansion in DDV?

Usually during the quests the character tells us what we have to do and Pluto can’t talk so Pluto would be better to have as a quest reward for a companion

So, history lesson. Oswald was Walts first Character. Pre Mickey. Pre Disney company. And he unfortunately lost the rights when he partnered with another production company to release Oswald cartoons. It is why Mickey even exists. And why the Disney company was started so that he would never again lose the rights to his own creations. In the past decade the Disney company was finally able to require the rights to Oswald the Lucky Rabbit and his lady love Ortensia! They are a big hit at the parks where they now meet guests

well, he is really the second as alice in the alice comedies and her felix the cat rip-off sidekick was the first. Without losing Oswald there would be no mickey however and epic mickey made them brothers! Also, yeah Oswald and his girlfriend are loved in japan with tons of merch and both are meet and greets in the disney parks in japan for years. He has returned to the disney comics in new stories also and they made a new short with him on disney plus.

Oswald was Walt Disney's very first character. Oswald the Lucky Rabbit is mostly a nostalgia thing, but for the 100th anniversary, it's meaningful.

Ok, so the thing about Oswald (he’s my all time favorite Disney character and we even named our cat after him)… Walt created Oswald BEFORE Mickey. He then lost the rights to him, forcing him to create Mickey which was pretty much an off-shoot of Oswald (you can see the resemblance). So the Disney nerds have a special place in their hearts for him. He was also a very big part of Epic Mickey games from a few years back, and since Disney got the rights to him back they’ve since started making some new content with him (shorts). Anyway, I can go on, but I’ll leave it at that for now.

I've been playing DDV since day one, and have 800 plus hours on my Switch. So for me, the expansion is definitely worth buying. Also, I'm hoping for Genie over Oswald as the lucky character, mainly because I know nothing about him.

The $1=1 hour of gameplay is genius. I’ve never thought about it, but I generally don’t spend lots of money unless I can get some really good gameplay. The Sims 4 franchise is infamous for overcharging for expansions. $40 for something you might only play with for 5 hours no thank you.

I am 63 years old ! I do play a few games but only ones i find worth it ! DDLV IS DEFINIATELY WORTH IT !! I grew up with Disney and to be able to play a game that will expand for a long time at a very good price , to me is a joy ! my kids are gamers , and they will pay 70.00 or more for a game they have to buy another game for that is added ,, like 1,2,3,etc ! I play House Flipper , DDLV and Planet crafter and i am happy !!!

Oswald the Lucky Rabbit personally makes perfect sense to me!! The expansion is literally called a 'Rift in Time' so bringing in a character created almost 100 years ago will make for an interesting time travel story plot wise. Oswald could be one of the many consequences caused by the time rift 😊

I think what's going to happen is, we're going to open the Aladdin realm and get Aladdin and Jasmine first, then even further in the future Genie will just magically pop up in our valley, saying he's been on his World Tour from the end of the first movie and ended up here.

I bought the base founders pack originally for 30 dollars. I bought it for my kids. When i realized i love it too. I discovered the ultimate founders pack. I paid 59 for that one. So i habe invested 90 so far. I have played 370+ hours my children have easily played 30+ hrs each i have 3 kids. So it has more than paid for itself and gice us tons of fun play time. It has bonded my children too. Its been adorable to watch them grow as gamers.

I will definitely buy it. The price seems quite fair for the amount of content they're offering (3 new biomes which seem to be big enough to match the current ones combined, new ingredients, new furniture, new clothes, prolly new materials for new DIY items, new recipes, new tool, new characters, crop watering automation, multiple recipe-making... I'm just crossing my fingers Scrooge's separate stores will offer different items too, because furniture and clothes are exponentially increasing in quantity and not even travelling to other people's worlds might help to gather enough of them to keep up the pace.

I just really wish they'd chosen different characters to include with the expansion, especially Rapunzel (her house was on base game box art). To be clear, the biomes and extra story etc. would be ENOUGH for me to buy the expansion, it's not a question about it being worth it. I just wish it wasn't 'tainted' by broken promises and I can't feel fully excited about it. It kind of feels like we got finished characters who were meant to be part of the base game (just my own theory) thrown in because they were there. Why not include the other Aladdin characters? Or someone from Tarzan or Jungle Book? Emperor's New Groove would also maybe make sense - based on the biomes at least.

Well, Daisy is at least confirmed. Somone on their social media said something about her, and the team responded, "We can't wait for you to meet her", which at least confirms that she's coming _eventually_ Although if they do mean the early spring part of the roadmap, then she's one of the free update characters, not the expansion.

A thing i learned when researching running a business is apparently companies will increase prices until customers all of a sudden leave en masse and the analyser explained it's because their trust was already betrayed months earlier but the sunk cost fallacy was the only thing keeping them there until eventually it became too much and the last straw got broken. Apparently there is no coming back from that as a company after that happens, lowering the prices does barely anything. I still think the lucky character is a Mulan-based character (Mushu, for instance, as he's a luck dragon)... I can only see it being Oswald if they're trying to cross-market again. I mean, that's a possibility, but Mushu seems to fit more for me.

Since they showed Donald’s boat, it’s possible that it could be Daisy since she in on the boat and there has to be a reason when she was on the boat, maybe she was spelled by either Ursula or Jafar since they do have that type of cursing power. If the lucky character is Oswald the LUCKY bunny then where would we have to look for him? Was he in skull rock? But then again it could be Genie and we would have to find his lamp and of course set him free. Overall, I’m actually more excited to be face to face with Jafar since he is one of my favorite Disney villains. But if he is coming to my valley, he better bring Iago😻

another possibility for the Lucky Villager is Gladstone Gander he was Donald's rival for Daisy's affections and with her coming it makes sense. Glastone was also very lucky everything always some how went in his favour except of course daisy is Donald's girlfriend

I'm also confused about possible cross play if I get an xbox with gamepass just for less glitches while decorating. I'll still probably play more on my switch because I prefer portability. Why wouldn't you buy it - if you play a game religiously, you should contribute money to the creators to show your appreciation. I am definitely buying it. I don't like games though that if you don't pay you can't advance or win - thankfully they haven't done that with this game, so because I like their work - I don't mind sometimes buying expansions. Worth it. Plus I haven't really watched Oswald in anything but I always found him super cute and retro, he's all over Disneyland - so maybe that's why I like him, I have seen him so many times - as I've been to Disneyland more times I can count and Disney World once too. My friend I used to have, he was a major Disney fan - he's the one that got me on this game, he said "this game has your name all over it!!" and he was right.

Techincally if we get new characters the expansion would be worth it in a lot of ways most likely more good than bad since it would be like a paid DLC game. People have been complaining about having nothing to do after leveling up the characters at least getting an expansion would give people something to do since we’d get more characters into our valley to level up like you said the free to play option would be more worse money wise for players at least a paid DLC version of the game has a chance of keeping things reasonable for players since the prices of stuff wouldn’t be jacked up to be insanely super never endingly high. plus if people want more characters in their valley it gives us all something to do since people keep complaining about having nothing to do after leveling up the characters when the game gives us lots to do

Personally I'm not going to buy it, I feel the game is already monetized enough and buying the expansion while it's still over monetized is just going to motivate the Devs to push it further. -Battlepass system that expires. (You pay for the privilege to earn, not buying the items themselves) -Premium Shop with items locked directly behind a moonstone pricetag instead of being available alternatively in Scrooge's shop. -Quests locked behind an additional price tag not included in the starpath purchase. (Including gameplay ease of access to Ursula without her warping around water sources) -Exclusive Items locked behind an additional purchase of the base game via physical release. (Without the ability to share the already owned base game with new players while keeping the exclusive items) And now: -Locking of long time requested gameplay features behind the new expansion. (Such as sprinklers) -Locking of highly requested villagers behind the new expansion. If you are buying the pass I hope you enjoy it, and find all the value in the price. Game on.

I know I’m the unpopular opinion here but I really don’t like the Mickey and friends characters. Or the Toy Story ones since I don’t have any attachment to that movie either. I’ve been hoping that they would switch to a more animal crossing like approach where you can choose which villagers live in your valley as we get more characters. I hope that the extension offers the possibility to move houses to the new biomes, so that I can banish everyone I don’t like 😅
