Right now in NZ I can't even afford a small studio apartment. I'm applying for living in old mens basements etc and even then we're in a housing shortage so there's so much competition, I'm loosing to small families who have good prior references to apply for the room. I only have my mum as a reference. Honestly it's depressing. I'm putting soo much work into applying for these, honestly disgusting, mould dark spaces.

I seeing living in a studio place is like being in ur own room with a bathroom and kitchen any attached to room but separate by walls in ways. that my future plan compared to now in a 2 bed place and 2 1/2 bath by chance with parent. so future plan is studio apartment cause not real need a mate to share space and less hassles so just gotta pay rent, power and food and any else i need or want any.

In a studio apartment the less shit you have the better off you are. I just had a tv, ps4, ramen noodles, mattress topper for a bed on the floor, lawn chair, and enough clothes for a week. I also had a handgun and a pet pig that I had to try extremely hard to hide. Almost got caught a few times.

If you decide to live in a small apartment, then you absolutely need to make use of the room. Meaning, that u need a bed with drawers, 1-2 small book shells with decent height combined with boxes and ideally a desk with two drawers on each side. This way you got plenty of options to store your clothes etc. This principle goes for every item in your apartment, simply: store options. Do not buy a regular table, go along with a bar table and 2 bar chairs. The smaller the items, the bigger the room.

When I moved into my 486 sq ft apartment in 2016 my grandpa saw it and was like..I might need to get one of these! He loves having his own little room in their condo to get away from grandma lmao. It’s funny how we are ok with this space in our 20s, grow to want more as we age, then near the latter half of life become fine with small spaces again. Personally, I’m 31 and still in the studio. Works for me.

I know some people LIKE living in a small space, and it’s easier when it’s quite well presented and luxurious - as they usually are on social media and KZbin, but most people live in studios because they can’t afford anything else, and most studios are horrible. Honestly I feel like studios are often one of the most disgusting manifestations of income inequality in major cities. When you see luxurious one's like this it really obscures that.

@@Lakishia same here, i sometimes try to understand their preference but its just so unnecessary in general. A big house doesnt equate a mansion and thats one of my main problems, a big family may need 5 bedrooms but not a house the size of 5 others 😑. Plus, all the space means more upkeep and maintanence, i cant imagine spending so much on cleaning a floor.

I’m in my 6th year of studio/bachelor living and three shitty things for me were sometimes cooking in the space, even though in my first one my kitchen was kinda closed off you couldn’t see into it from the bed, and (don’t have this problem anymore) but my cat meowing and keeping me awake in the spring and summer, he was 16 years old and passed away now so doesn’t effect me anymore. Thanks for sharing ☺️ Moved in with my partner and it’s ruff in my opinion. And we have complete different work/sleep hours. So we tip toe around each other a bit.

Thank you so much for your video! I recently moved to a new studio apartment, basically one big room with kitchen place, my work space, and my bed. What most annoys me, it's shoes I go outside so close to my bed. If I move my bed to a different part of room, I will be close to my kitchen and a fridge that makes noice. Definitely will look into 1 bedroom after my lease up. Forgot to mention, view from my window kind of also upsetting, nearest neighbors building too close to mine.

Awesome watch! And you're sport on its definitely romanticized a bit but i think for the most part a lot of us just end up having to stay in studios for cost reasons if you aren't tryna live like far out of a main city and have loads of roommates. Defs takes a lotta discipline to stay super clean coz any small mess is always visible 😩😫 Overall i think studios are annoying but they'll basically always have a spot for young working professionals who need a space while probably planning for a home later down the line. Keep up the great work, i know this video is a bit old but came through on recommended, definitely got my sub

I recently lost my 6 rm house/duplex (1000/mo) endeding in TINY subsidizing apt in Northampton MA, which I hate!! What works at 18 & your 1st is different when you are older, 63 with COPD and a lot of STUFF! Point being, age personality and life experiences and priorities are important. I don't know honestly if I can downsize to this, even tho I have no family... Good luck to the folks out there I hope you can guide them! ✌️ Easy to say "I hope I can manage" but a little vague 😂😆

Micro condos also don't really emphasize computer space. They often show spaces for people reading books but not using a computer. The latter being a lot more prevalent, especially with covid and more and more people working from home. They might show you a small store-away table to use as a desk but rarely show a dedicated space enough to have more than just a small laptop. Like a real space for desktop computers that will always be present. I also find it's really not ideal for a couple. Those spaces are made for a single person.

We don’t like in a tiny or micro house. But by Texas standards and a family of three we live in a pretty small space (It’s right at 1500sqft.) We have run into a lot of the same smell issues 😂 💩 I feel like I am cleaning all the time cause a few things just wreck the whole place. Right now my husband is working from and nice headphones are about the only thing saving our relationship some days.

Drying Laundry takes over your entire living space. Dehumidifier goes a long way. You can buy miniature washing machines designed for camping.

I'm looking at moving to a 200 sq ft studio apartment coming from living in a 1 bedroom apartment with a full living room, dining room and kitchen. Of course I'll have to downsize a lot, but what's the size of your studio?

Honestly I was thinking about moving my bedroom into the living room since it’s so big and turning my one bedroom into like a closet or something plus I can hear my neighbors in there for some reason the bedroom floor is a lot louder than the rest of the place so I can hear them walking and when they are doing their late night exercise and I can very much Hear it

Wait... You got a boyfriend and he moved in?? Dang, y'all must have been going out for awhile before we learned about him! King of privacy cuz we literally had no idea!! Good job! 🤣 Anyway, I could never live in a studio. I like my things. But even in a one bedroom in Brooklyn I'm struggling with space constraints. I'm gonna start going going through my things. If I want to move to Vancouver next year I can't drag alllllll this stuff with me. So yeah starting with a clothing decluttering this week since I won't be leaving the house much so most of these clothes are unnecessary now.
