Instead of asking people to NOT opt for female ShihTzu's, you could have created a video around how best to understand a female ShihTzu. Especially considering you have one yourself. People already don't adopt females because of their heat cycles and limited knowledge. Female dogs in general are actually a lot smarter than males and train quicker. I have a female Shihtzu aswell. All it takes is understanding them and their needs. Let's not at least be sexist when it comes to dogs :(

I have had both sexes and what I found is this. My male was used for breeding and survived cancer TWICE. never had a issue once castrated. Had female spayed and no issues. Very good with kids both sexes. Both sexes had no issues with being outgoing with either sex, sorta...due to puppy abuse female is VERY cautious with human AND male dogs. However, with time this has gotten much better with her trust in me. Now she gauges my temperament and takes it from their trusting my reactions. I haven't found any issues spoken of in this video. She is more than a velcro dog she is I think part of my skin LOL. No picky eater by any means unless it's very humid otherwise she luvs everything I feed (freeze dried food), luvs most veggies and watermelon, cantaloupe, blueberries. She LOVES freeze dried because...of all the organ meats and can't wait when she is fed chicken liver. Otherwise I WONT feed ANY chicken unless a broth. Never ignores me if anything a pest. In a loving way. All that being said no two dogs the same and I prefer female over male as she is also SUPER quick to learn AND remember. My male was VERY territorial with other males going out of his way even to be on hunt and attack. 😢

I can't participate in this video. It probably has to do with your dog's personality. My shitsu is a female, yes she has an independent side but she is usually dependent on me. She wants my attention all the time, she wants to play. I've never had problems with my girl. You need to know that each dog has its own personality, you shouldn't generalize about things other than common traits.

I didn't want to spay my Tzu until I read the statistics - you are doing your dog and yourself countless favours by getting her spayed....even if it does feel barbaric at the time.
