Best thing about interviews like this is they let me view these musicians as normal everyday people that could easily be my cool neighbor. They don't seem so out of touch like I would view them before the internet became a thing.

Reb has a great new solo LP streaming now. I’ve been waiting for it since I first saw him do a clinic back in the Stone Age. He is such a great player both technically and so much soul and feel. Great show !

My all time favorite guitarist . Fell in love with his playing the first time I heard headed for a heartbreak on the radio about 18 years ago , and picked up my first guitar shortly after and play to this very day . Thank you Reb for all the years of great music man, you’ve helped me though many a dark times dude . Rock on and thanks for doing this man!

Awesome interview - Pete friesen used to teach me guitar at a college and he toured with Ryan and Reb in Alice band. I remember him saying Reb is one of the funniest guys I served Alice in a shop once too and he was awesome and stood and chatted. Very polite
@ryant36002 жыл бұрын
I lived in the valley and met Alice quite a few times. His wife and daughter once had a Ed Hardy gig at Scottsdale Fashion Square like a modeling thing at the store Alice came in to see them do their little "catwalk" thing but he came in wearing plaid pants, polo shirt, golf gloves hanging out his back pocket. He told me he left the course to come show support. But, he was always down to earth, approachable and I never saw him in public without golf attire, but once, it was at his sportsbar that he had in downtown Phx called, Cooperstown. He's a cool cat.

Went to the Kiss, Winger, Slaughter concert in Seattle. Was right on the rail in front of Reb and his playing just blew me and this other guy away. Loved this interview. Reb seems like the kind of guy that you could kick it with at a barbecue. This interview made me want to pick up the guitar again.

I was like a big fan of Reb’s guitar style in the 80s and 90s. I was not even in US that time but I was able to get his guitar and band songs on cassettes and CDs. I remember buying Guitars that Rule the World CD and heard Black Magic and it blew my mind. Amazing stuff by him. Great guitarist.

first off, Ryan, your interviews are always great. second off, this is me being a Beavis and Butt-Head fanboy. I have been watching and collecting merchandise of the show since i was three months old, i have collected merchandise of the show for just as long and one thing that has always irked me, is the they "killed Wingers career" talk. Beavis and Butt-Head made fun of countless "hair bands" and other associated acts. Crue and Vince Neil solo, Poison, Ratt, Cinderella, Skid Row, Def Leppard, Alice Cooper, i could go on and on. Fun fact, one of their biggest catchphrases is "Breakin the Law" and they HATED that song! they loved Judas Priest, but they despised that song. Beavis and Butt-Head did not even become a full time series on MTV until 1993, Frog Baseball the pilot was released in 1992, but that had nothing to do with MTV, other than airing on Liquid Television. By the time that Beavis was turned into a series, some if not all of those 80's bands had broken up already. Smells Like Teen Spirit (which supposedly killed all the hair bands originally) was released in 1991, so Beavis wasn't even around at that time. Yes, Beavis and Butt-Head called Kip Winger a "wuss" but they called so many artists that, and i have never heard any other artists complain about this situation. look, my favorite type of music is the 80's. my dad was a teenage during the heyday of the Sunset Strip and that is what i was raised on, so i understand the situation, but a cartoon had nothing to do with it, more so the changing of times. also.. not that this matters, but i noticed that he said they hung him from a tree, that never happened. a dog was not wearing a Winger shirt, his mom and dad wore Winger shirts once, yes but they only wore them to a scene where they are all at a music festival that lasts maybe 50 seconds. again, just me being a fanboy, none of this matters. Beavis and Butt-Head didn't like Stewart, it had absolutely nothing to do with his T-Shirt though. They never once made fun of him for his T-Shirt, they only made fun of him because they thought he was annoying. either way, i hope eventually this talk dies and never comes back, but then again, it has been thirty years, so who knows. okay, i'm done now. keep up the great work Ryan.

You're in Sweden, Ryan? How come? And speaking of the stories Reb's telling; Winger seven far outclasses anything Metallica has done since the black album, so it all comes back around (pun intended). The solo in that song (it all comes..) is one of the best I've heard in my life, and I've feasted on epic guitar solos since the late 80's.
