They both are amazing to see live too! I seen Dolly when I was very young at a state fair. Then seen Reba twice once when she came to Portland and had just broke her foot or ankle and still came out on stage in a cast! It was a great show. She also came on the girls night out tour with Martina. All are great memory!

I listen to Dolly's version of this song every year. The first time I heard it I was in my mid-20's and the emotion of the song made me burst into tears. It's a beautiful, sad song. I always cry when I hear it. I didn't know Reba had performed it until today. Totally amazing. I love this song so much. And yes, Reba's version made me cry too. Love her-she is AMAZING, and her music has gotten me through some horrible times. I'd love to hear her and Dolly do this song together.

I saw her in person earlier this month in Las Vegas and this woman is without a doubt one of those living legends that people will be talking about for years after she finally retires. I enjoyed the whole show and the banter she had with Brooks and Dunn. I also happen to think that she's paying a wonderful and soul felt tribute to Dolly with this one, absolutely wonderful.

@@patricemarie2960 The history of the song is from a writer of Broadway play that the movie was named after. I know it doesn't necessarily have to represent hookers. Hookers are everyday women like the rest of us with dreams and fears. Hooking is just a job. Hopefully you understand. My comment was about the group of women singing together and not just one singular voice. Both versions leave very powerful impressions. Just have to take out the context of the play and associated movie. I saw this movie with my older sister and I could never forget the impression this song left on me. As of this writing I am about to pack my apartment up because I have been ordered to leave by the new landlord. There's no rent protection for my case because of the no lease loophole. I am scared, alone, and sometimes hurt and confused but my sister has offered me a place to go. I will get there just not as the same person I am here in my hometown. Maybe that won't matter and I'll be just fine and dandy.

What a beautiful rendition of this song! Reba is amazing as always. She sings with such emotion! Too bad they didn't include this for the actual show smh. But at least they put it on KZbin.I guess because of time restraints or the fact that Trisha sang it last year on the show maybe that's why it wasn't included. I was at the taping of this, it was so good. And of course Reba never had to sing her songs twice because she always nails them the first time around. Too bad I could have listened to her sing this one all night. She is just the best!
