Spoke intelligently about a strong topic. We all have individual rights and no MAN can tell any WOMAN what she can/can't do with her body.

I am literally suffering with severe reproductive issues and pain because, since I don't have any kids, they wouldn't remove the offending ovaries. The doctor literally said this to me and then asked me to explain why I didn't want kids. None of my answers were good enough for her, although I got in the impression that it might have had something to do with either insurance company policy or hospital policy rather than her own opinion on the matter. It just really sucks because I'm 37 years old and I have several inherited genetic conditions, including the problems in my reproductive tract and including reproductive cancers. You'd think that would be enough without mentioning the fact that I have never in my life wanted children, if everyone has children on this planet there won't be enough of anything to go around, and that I have no prospect of ever being able to financially support a kid. They don't give a damn about that. Because I'm a woman, I have to be able to have children no matter how much pain this unused ability causes me. Quite frankly, it's so messed up in there that I probably couldn't have kids even if I wanted them. It's fucking insane though and it makes me feel like the only value my society has of me is that I be able to produce human offspring. It makes me so mad! My voice is often discredited too. In fact, I can't think of a single facet of my life in which someone listens to what I have to say and takes it as an educated point of view. I have an extremely high intelligence and literally no one values it or even believes it is there. Hell, I didn't even believe I was smart until I was in college and I was getting all the technical stuff I was studying well before everyone else.

Amy : Be well. Yes, I think many of us didn't realize ourselves until the gazes, the raised eyebrows of males in our higher education. #sadly

the solidarity of concerned americans since the election is beautiful; an inspiration around the world. "the long slow work of rebuilding" is the silver lining to trumpism.
