I am disabled, But I used to make my bed seven days a week and if I took a nap on it I straightened it out so it looked perfect afterwards however now I have a caregiver that makes my bed. When I was in beginning nursing school we were taught how to make hospital beds, one interesting thing was that we were never supposed to shake the sheets in the air (something I always did at home) because it made germs go airborne on the dust you stir up. I guess with covid and flu season that might be something to consider when making your bed. We were actually told to lay the sheet in the middle of the bed and unfold/spread it out over the bed carefully without shaking the sheet in the air.
@RebeccaBrand4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for writing Nellie Dwyer I really love your good idea! Keep them coming and keep writing comments on my videos, nice that you are here! sounds like an excellent idea now with covid!!!
@slothbros76074 жыл бұрын
@@RebeccaBrand I meant my comment to in no way disparage your video. :) but when I was taught that, it was something I never thought of. I always shook those sheets in the air and let them land on the bed then straightened and evened them out. :) I never thought about spreading germs!

I have a very quick way to put any pillow inside a pillowcase. Put the case flat on the bed, with the opening facing you. Insert your two hands inside, palms facing up, half way down the length of the case. With thumb and index finger grab the sides of the case. Raise your hands--holding the case and bringing it away from the bed--than shake it, pulling your hands out at the same time. Part of the case will be inside out. Insert the pillow will be very easy, because it is just half way. Now pull the case up and, voilà, you have the pillow neatly inserted in the case! (Yes, it's complicated when you read, but try it, because it is simplicity itself!)

+Shannon Thomas Do as I and the Europeans do. Buy a nice down comforter and put in inside a comforter cover (duvet) which is basically a huge pillowcase having either a zipper or button closure. Then when you get up in the morning you just shake it out over your mattress. After using a comforter inside a comforter cover for over 30 years, I could never return to having to make a bed. Ugh.

Read only don't try this at home, in your on words. What a nice bedroom you have, but it can get messy in here. If you have issues in here that's why I am doing this video. If you like it fast and easy, this is something you need to know in life. Lets get started. First you take it out and it grows like a snake in a can. So it starts out small and the gets big. You can do it on the floor or on the bed. Down she goes and grab the top and push in. Now that's the trick, work yourself around till you get three fourths in. Now put your hand in and pull it all the way out. I like to cheat here. Ok pull back and flip her over wee. Most of my activity is at the top of the bed and I get more stretching than yoga. You can sleep on it first to see if you like it. But the frosting on top is if you can get couple more inches in and it goes in tight. When its King size it just a lot more fun. When you get thru just shake it off and run your hand down inside. Do this for three weeks it becomes a habit. But for me I just sleep on top of my made bed. If you need help just watch the video again. I going to put my head under my pillow. Your killing Me :-)

Ever since I was a child, I haven't been able to sleep in an unmade bed. I make it every day, even if it is 10 minutes before I go to sleep. I learned to make my hospital corners differently, though. Same idea, but since I don't sleep under blankets, but a down damask duvet, it's only the sheets that get tucked and so the corners look crispier, which makes my bed more inviting at sleep time. Also, I'm allergic to memory foam; I once had a memory foam pillow. It felt like I was sleeping on a rock. As soon as I went back to a down pillow, that feeling went away. Yes, it is true for me: a well-made bed makes for a more restful sleep, more vivid dreams, and more energy throughout my day.
