*I sleep with 3 pillow. My Airbnb bed has 4 pillows on it just because. My current guest brought his own bedding. Nice guy but because he never stayed at an Airbnb and told me he never read my whole listing which clearly would have seen what's included. Great info and BTW, I am the cleaning crew as I only have one space to look after. Be Well.*

I like squishy ones. The fluffy pillows hurt my neck. We use zinus and I love it! It’s perfect between firm and soft, but will keep in mind that they change slowly. My STR has 3 pillows per bed/ side of bed. So 6 on our king bed! Never enough pillows!

Thank you for all the specific recommendations. 🎉 I have a soft pillow for my legs, a latex foam pillow for my head and a half pillow to sort of hug. I always bring my foam pillow when I travel because that’s the one I’m picky about. The others are due to back and neck surgeries and they help me get up without pain. Your list is good. We rented an AirBnb with really firm mattresses. I was bummed. I gave them a five star review because they were very good at communication, cleanliness and stocking the house, but I said they really should do better with the beds. I understand the microfiber sheets, but prefer cotton.

Great info! Any specific recommendations for a part-time STR? In other words, a home used primarily for friends and family, and then rented for 4-6 weeks a year? Should the same choices be made as far as frames, mattresses, pillows, and linens? Would love to hear your thoughts as I don’t see this addressed anywhere. Thanks!

1 firm pillow that's not too tall is my preference. But I'm mainly here to see if there's any benefit from switching from 2 bunk beds to 1 full and 1 bunk bed? Or just swapping out everything for a single king or queen. I've got 2 Airbnb tents and the one with the king sized bed gets all the bookings. So the bed seems to be the variable.

It depends on your market and clientele but we find that most adults aren't going to want to sleep on a bunk bed.

@@kyleeandsteven Strangely enough, right after I read your comment, we got a booking for that tent with the two bunk beds. I think the proximity to a fairly major college probably has something to do with it. But yes, it certainly does depend on the market!

i sleep exclusivey on my back for health reasons and my personal pillow setup is: 1 semi firm THIN memory foam pillow for my head & shoulders 1 THICK firm memory foam pillow for under my upper things and then 1 huge fluffy thick couch pillow from Target and 1 thick Avocado later fluff pillow, under each calf and ankle I'm healing from 15+ years of neuroplastic pain symptoms though, so my setup is ultra-specific and also involves a heating pad for my back & just because I am always cold. then, a warm, very thick fluffy comforter inside a duvet + 1 alpaca blanket on top this is what I need for a great, restful night of sleep. usually when I travel by car, I take all these things we me to the location. it sucks but is necessary.

We travel with our own pillows and try never to leave them behind :) One knee pillow is somewhere in San Francisco... Husband likes a ramp under his Sleep Number memory foam pillow. I like a low, easy to manipulate, cooling pillow. Have you ever looked into zip and link beds for versatility in hosting couples vs. individuals? (A google search on this topic led me to you, and I am super grateful for all your tips and links!!!)

We have 40 foot shipping containers we rent out. Full is what fits in them. 4 pillows. Serta mattress all the way. Duvet cover....I have used the same duvet cover for 6 months. I choose all white linens because bleach is a lifesaver. If you can bleach it, you can save it. I have even seen blood come out of the material with bleach. I get raving reviews on the bed even though it is a full (double), it works and people respect the fact that it is a shipping container with limited space.

I own the Wayfair Sleep™ 12" Plush Gel Memory Foam Mattress that you recommended in another video. I like the mattress but can't find a platform bed frame with slats less than 2.75" apart including the Linus so I don't have to use a bunkie board/box spring. Any recs or advice?

hey Kylee & Steven! Can you help me out? How has the Plush mattress continued to perform? To what degree does your body sink in? Trying to decide whether I should go with the Plush or Firm. We love the plush! It’s not really “plush” where you sink. It has a softer top than a standard memory foam (like the zinus one) but still has the support.

there may be some quality options but we haven't tried any that thin. We like to go for at least 20cm (~8in) but preferably 25cm (10in) or more.

What is people's problem with duvet covers?! It takes me 30 seconds to put one on the duvet. Seriously, this must be some sort of a geometric challenge or something. I absolutely HATE microfiber sheets. Cotton or bamboo only!!! Your skin can't breathe in microfiber.
