I beg to differ. He is in his late 50's. I saw him do this song maybe 5 years ago in a video here on YT. The song definitely was in a lower key compared to the original. I don't think he has the range he did in the 90's. It is just the way life goes as we age. We can no longer hit the high notes. The near-fatal accident hasn't hurt his voice. He still can belt out a great, classic Steelheart song with a strong vibrato, but the songs need to be in a lower key compared to the album's version. It happens to the best of them.

Yes Rebecca, one can never get enough of Miljenko Matijevic, that man is constantly blowing you away with how much range he has. If you want to see him at his absolute best range then watch Steelheart - Live in Hong Kong, CHN (1992) then skip to 04:18 to the song "Sheila". At the end of that song his voice goes up and through the stratosphere, he just keeps upping the game and goes higher and higher on each scream (with a B5 in the end), I hope you watch it and record your reaction your jaw will be on the floor I promise! ;) It's also a really entertaining song.

Absolutely my favorite video yet. I’ve seen SteelHeart live many times back in the day and not many singers can sound better live but Miljenko not only nailed it, he nailed every single time in fact he’s even doing it today. I’ve heard many people compare him to Sebastian Bach but not only does Miljenko blow him away live, Miljenko is hands down in a class all by himself.

I was working as a DJ at WKZQ in Myrtle Beach SC when this song came out. Steelheart's record company brought them in to be interviewed one day. While we were between segments I jokingly asked Miljenco how big the clamp was they applied to him to hit that note at the 6:41 mark in this video. He laughed, stood up, spread his feet shoulder width apart, threw his head back, and hit that note for a good 7-8 seconds. Simply incredible voice, and a really cool guy.

@@alphamegaradio, I was there part-time from '88-'91, then full-time from '91-'97. When WKZQ was still at 101.7, and still the best station in Myrtle Beach. Back before automation, when we ran our own board by hand, and loaded up the CDs ourselves. When radio still had the human touch.

Oh agreed, man. Was gonna say.. KZQ was one of the stations that helped support and spin my former band Storm on regular rotation during 2001-2002. We did on-airs for the station in 2001. The staff was great. Worked in tandem with Rock 105 Jacksonville, etc. We toured a lot in that area to promote the album "In The Eye." If you were on staff there during that time, we probably know one another, bro. Storm went international sooner after that launch phase. Wouldn't that be strange - to bump into each other again, on Rebecca's channel thread? lol

Rebecca, I honestly just love your reactions. You can tell they are genuine and not merely acting. Also, you've encouraged me to keep singing after I had a heart attack and major depression. I lost most of my singing voice after the heart attack and with the depression, I just didn't find joy in anything at all much less singing. Your encouragement has helped me to keep practicing and working on my voice (vocal music degree). I have increased my range to almost where it was before the heart attack. So, thank you for your encouragement.
