you’re right it started with charice because of social media but filipino singers already competing internationally as early as 1970’s or much early than that and we usually wins. and the belting in singing started because of Regine Velasques our Asia’s Songbird who had won in a international singing competition.

In a way yes it's a practice. But it's beyond that. This was just a random guy who just sang just because. And now here he is. So in reply to your first comment. Marcelito didn't have proper training to know the do's and dont's nor the songs suit her voice. He just did it perhaps accidentally and naturally developed it.

Rebecca Vocal Athlete Yes please, your going to love him singing "Power Of Love". He was also a guest on a daytime tv show singing "Endless Love". Apparently this type of singing both male and female parts of the song. Is quite common in the Philippines. I've seen a video of another guy singing a duet in a department store karaoke. He was also pretty good. Marcelito Pomoy won The Philippines Got Talent with The Prayer. Usually you harmonise the two voices in a duet. But that's impossible for one person to overlap 2 different voices. Isn't it?
