The only vocals he wasn't singing, and I wouldn't call it lip-synching because he wasn't even pretending to sing them, were his own harmonies he created in the studio. Of course it would be impossible for him to recreate that same sound in its entirety live, him or any other signer who records their own backup vocals in the studio. You can duplicate that live. It's IMPOSSIBLE to sing lead and backup at the same time. So what MJ and other solo artists from that era would do is sing their lead vocals LIVE and have their back-up vocals pre-recorded (Clicks) so you get the entire studio sound at a live show.

Excellent Reaction. I can remember the first time he did the Moonwalk on Mowtown's 25th Anniversary show. People went NUTS. The next day all the kids in school were trying to Moonwalk. I think in order to make some of it work,he had to use backing track with the vocals probably. But some of it you could hear its not lipsyncd , ... Theres vid on here of him on a lift 30 feet above the audience, & the lift gaveway & you hear it hit the ground, he injured his back, but finished the song & went to the hospititol after the show.

I'd never seen this video. All I can say is that any video that doesn't capture Jackson's feet is a missed opportunity. That's where the action is. Can't believe that in 2001 the video director would crop in above Michael's knees and waist for 95% of this performance. What a disappointment. Sad for Rebeka.
