The last part of the song is just something else... Through the solo you can hear all variations of crying and battling the pain and on top of that when Axl's vocals are introduced in with the cry out you can feel that huge part of his soul dies with her in the moment, I think my heart is broken to million pieces. A fucking masterpiece of musical art!

In the U.S. I often hear a drunken rowdy crowd whooping, shouting, screaming during something like this (delicate/classical piano opening. ) Ruins the live recording, not to mention the soloist not feeling respected. This song was written in the very early days of Guns N' Roses for their first album Appetite for Destruction, but left off because there were a few ballads already and Axl wanted to finish it properly. It was released in 1991 on Use Your Illusion I. Both Use Your Illusion records topped various charts at the time, neck and neck. It was poorly received by a lot of rock fans, but demand was so high for Guns N' Roses that they toured for 3 years straight, at points with Metallica, and points with many bands like Soundgarden, Nine Inch Nails, and Faith No More opening. It culminated in the band taking a hiatus before coming back with a covers album called "The Spaghetti Incident?". After that, Slash quit the band and Guns N' Roses went on hiatus for 5 years. Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum quit in the interim. The three of them got with Scott Weiland from Stone Temple Pilots and formed Velvet Revolver. Axl came back with a new lineup featuring Buckethead and Robin Finck on lead guitars, taking a very long time to record an album called Chinese Democracy. I highly recommend listening to a track called This I Love from that record, though I recommend cutting it as much as possible or muting it because Geffen are very protective of that album and tend to strike channels. It's risky, but the song is wonderful. Slash and Duff came back to Guns N' Roses in 2016, and the band embarked on the Not In This Lifetime Tour, which they've still yet to finish. Axl sang for AC/DC in between legs due to Brian Johnson from that band having significant hearing loss, and it was quite a spectacle as well. I strongly recommend checking out the Thunderstruck performance from Madison Square Garden in 2016. It's breathtaking. Keep up the great work, Rebeka!!! 🥰💙
