I’ve always found it interesting that even the heaviest rockers usually have huge hits with ballads/love songs. And Slash is just amazing.

I never realised just how good Axl's voice really is. You don't "get" his voice from the records alone. For a long time, I thought the deep voice was someone else in the band - slash or Duff, my teen self imagined, doing the "Hey hey Yeah"s after Axl's "Knock , knock, knocking on heaven's door"s, for example. Cos it is SO different from the raspy highs!3 Live is where it's at...and whether it's Bruce Dickinson, Sebastian Bach or Axl Rose...you don't realise what a true, 1 in a million voice they each have...until you hear it unleashed live. MOST vocalists..the opposite is true. The live always reveals a sub-satisfactory vocal ability, that the studios were able to dress up. But when the voice is solid, full..utterly unique, character-filled, delivered passionately, and live - without post production - you know you are witnessing a God level singer.

@@lueysixty-six7300, Perfectly said :) For me, the albums & Live performances are two sides of the same coin. Experiencing both versions is the only way to feel everything. The albums tell a part of the story, and then the live performances add another part of the story. GnR is a great example for how albums + live is the perfect combination :)

@@lueysixty-six7300 that’s what really got me into Guns N’ Roses and why they’re my favorite band and axl my favorite singer, I first heard them when I was like 4 or 5 years old, first song was paradise city. people always forget Axle's control and range. Freddie Mercury has the greatest measured range for male vocalists, Axl is right behind him by like, half an octave. I saw him in Las Vegas in 2017 and they crushed it. Every song for two hours, note for note comparable to recording. Just amazing endurance.
@vinniedixon11403 жыл бұрын
Sorry to disappoint you but Mike Patton from Faith No More has the greatest range. Freddie Mercury had a four octave range & Axl Rose has a 5 & half. Mike Patton has six
@darrenl32893 жыл бұрын
@@vinniedixon1140 Good catch. After going back to look (first saw article years ago about it) I saw several newer different articles that can't seem to agree on Freddie's range, but all agree on Patton's. The original i saw way back didn't even list him, only super popular. And the record holder is some guy Tim Storms, TEN octaves and never heard of him lol ooh Rebekah should react to FNM, maybe Falling to Pieces :)

Next GNR song is Rocket Queen also Live in Tokyo 1992 or Nightrain (same show) which is favourite song of Slash to play live or Move To The City from same show as you get to see the band each play an indivdual part. Three awesome songs from that concert. If you want to do something really different then please react to Coma, an absolute awesome underated song, a long song at that of over ten minutes but it's just epic.

Nightrain has the best solos, that's why (I've learned about 20 Slash solos, and there are many great ones - they are all really good. But my top 5 to play...? Hmmmm...🤔 5. November Rain 4. You Could Be Mine 3. Nightain 2. Estranged 1. Rocket Queen (ballad part at the end) With special mention for Don't Cry and Heavens Door (the 1st and second solos I ever learned - 30 years ago! Heaven's Door is very simple, but it is the simplicity that makes it such a powerful composition. Every note packs power and meaning...and if your bends arent perfect...you're gonna sound like an amatuer on the violin - which interestingly, was my FIRST instrument - and I know all about hurting eardrums on it!)

Hello Rebeka! This is absolutely my favorite Guns song, quite possibly in my top 5 all time favorite songs period! Most may not know but this was the first song written with the classic Appetite for Destruction lineup. It was going to be on that album but they weren’t happy with it at the time so they revised it on Use Your Illusions I & II. The album version also features Shannon Hoon (Blind Melon) on harmony vocals & an alternative version with different lyrics on the 2nd album. Axel Rose is very intense live but there’s a softer side of him here, a bit raw & vulnerable especially with his words! It’s well documented that his voice has never held up well for the live concerts but you can’t deny his vocals, truly one of the best during his generation! Slash plays one of the must beautiful, sexy blues based solo in this song. It’s like his solo is a song within a song, nicely executed & very memorable! One of his many defining moments in Guns! Thanks for the video & I look forward to more! Take care!
