Can I use 1% milk, it's in those card baord sealed boxes, also shows 4 months expired? Can I can it?

I would say no because canned milk would have a similar shelf life as the boxed shelf stable milk. I would also like to add that I've used the boxed shelf stable milk long after the expiration date and it was fine but use your own judgement on that because I don't know how your milk is being stored and I know that has a huge impact on how long it'll last just like any shelf stable food.

That's interesting. Milk takes a lot of freezer space. I take that it tastes even more cooked than UHT? How come boiling over is not a problem? We know that milk makes a ton of foam when boiled. I don't know anything about pressure except that is dangerous.

It does have a slight cooked taste like evaporated milk so not as good for drinking but works great for using in recipes. Foaming isn't an issue at all, not sure why but it isn't.

howlong is it shelf stable?

I don't keep it on the shelf for longer than a year. It may last longer but a year is my limit.

Yes, the milk does have a darker tint after pressure canning. Bringing the pressure up slowly in the canner will minimize the color change but it will still be slightly darker. Blessings

Can you make butter with the canned milk

I've not tried making butter with the canned milk yet but think that would be a good experiment for a near future video.

We keep having issues with siphoning. Any suggestions to eliminate this or is that normal with milk?

If your head space is correct, then try raising the temperature in the canner slowly. It may be that the milk is getting heated up too fast.

9/26/2024 When the process is completed and the pressure is all the way down remove your weights. Do not remove your lid right away. Let it sit two-four minutes. This gives the jars contents a chance to stabilize before being removed from the canner.
