I've been using Method Daily Shower Spray for a couple of years (and love it) BUT would prefer a DIY formula. I've had no luck with the 50% vinegar/ 50% water/few drops of dish soap recipes that are out there (although that helps with preventing soap scum buildup). Our bathroom is very bright so I altered your recipe by swapping the (light sensitive) hydrogen peroxide for white vinegar. My recipe looks like this: 1 cup water (I would imagine distilled would be best if you have hard water) 1/2 cup rubbing alcohol 1/2 cup white vinegar 1 Tbs Rinse Aid (I used Finish) 1 tsp Dawn dish soap (castile soap might work better) I gave the glass a good scrub & rinse before my shower, then sprayed the glass & metal finish just before exiting the shower. I didn't squeegee, wipe or dry it. After a couple of hours, it wasn't as clear as Method Shower Spray but it was pretty darned close to perfect and NO WATER SPOTS! I'll increase the Rinse Aid by 1-2 tsp next time. I never would've thought to include a Rinse Aid but it makes perfect sense. Thanks so much for this!

Hello Cathy, thank you for the demonstration! I received my Mock Mill 100 the other day and took all the steps to clean and calibrate it. Quick question. Have you ever had any issues with rye grain? For some reason, it gets stuck and I find myself taking steps to make it work and recalibrating again, especially if I want to remill the flour that I had get out of the mill when it gets stuck. Also, the mill gets heated very quickly. I am a little bit confused... I hope you can steer me in the right direction.

But wouldnt they get soft in in the oil? I just dehydrated all my garden tomatoes and basil and i was going to pack them in oil now to be able to be good and marinated for christmas. Its september so 3 months away plus time to let them be used. Is that to long? I figured since everything is dehydrated it should hsve a longer shelflife? A year or two no?
@PennyPincherPantry
@PennyPincherPantry 2 ай бұрын
@Kayetana89 yes the oil will make the tomatoes soft which to me make them easier to eat. You should be fine with 3 months, the tomatoes dry will have a long shelf life but will be cut shorter once you put them in oil because they'll rehydrate and the oil shelf life is what you have to watch.

You can turn canned milk into butter you just have to add fat. I add tallow or pork lard. The reason homogenized milk will not make butter is because fats have been reduced during the homogenizing process

Can I use 1% milk, it's in those card baord sealed boxes, also shows 4 months expired? Can I can it?
@PennyPincherPantry
@PennyPincherPantry 3 ай бұрын
I would say no because canned milk would have a similar shelf life as the boxed shelf stable milk. I would also like to add that I've used the boxed shelf stable milk long after the expiration date and it was fine but use your own judgement on that because I don't know how your milk is being stored and I know that has a huge impact on how long it'll last just like any shelf stable food.

Thank you! Always use Lemon Juice. Citric Acid is a lab created synthetic chemical. There is a reason why the USDA is forcing organic farms to throw out meat without citric acid, and it's not for the people. Also best to use Celtic Sea Salt or Himalayan. :)

The Country Living mill was good when I (and the kids) were younger, but now it's time to upgrade to another power tool in the kitchen. Thank you for the analytical demonstration. I just have one question. Did you re-mill the tailings from all of your mill settings trials? I saw demo videos that show you can do that - something not recommended with the Nutrimill.

That's interesting. Milk takes a lot of freezer space. I take that it tastes even more cooked than UHT? How come boiling over is not a problem? We know that milk makes a ton of foam when boiled. I don't know anything about pressure except that is dangerous.

At the beginning of the process, you have to make sure to press the 8 & 12 oz buttons at the same time to put it into descale mode. I hope this explanation helps.
