I did a little experiment with my 2018 SV 650. Rode Harleys most of my life. Took off the stock exhaust and rode for 50 plus miles. The mpg dropped to 46. I put the Radiant on WITH the baffle because the CAT does not handle all the backpressure, but most of it. Back up to 52.8 mpg and the sound is right. Do what makes you happy but I am looking for longevity as well.

Yeah so if you’re a hippie tree hugger scientist and that much about a little bit of a tiny shit you might loose $1.00 per 2 tanks of gas if you don’t have the proper back pressure gotcha. Otherwise if you want people to hear you so they don’t change lanes on top of you it’s a good mod lol. Quiet bikes get run over and loud bikes let people know where you are even if it cost you a little more in gas mileage. Plus it sounds cooler lol

I just came from riding, and a stupid pickup didn't even hear me side by side him tried to turn into my lane. Luckily I was able beat on his window to get his attention. I got a 2018 Honda cb300f, and I just ordered that exhaust too. I would rather get the Coffman exhaust, but since I'm on a budget, and I hate my over sized coffee can stock exhaust. This right here is perfect for me. I don't see paying $220.00 for a straight pipe from Coffman really worth it.

@Mark Andrews Well, you're right! I bought that loud slip on, and didn't have it to long. A lady in a white car made sure of that . She went right up on me on the same Lane and made me fall off my bike. I hit the road hard. I suffered four broken ribs, a broken clavicle, bruised lung, and road burns all over. No matter how loud I was she still didn't want me in her Lane, or she didn't pay attention was on her phone.

@Mark Andrews It's a horrible experience, but it won't deter me from riding. I lost my bike that day on April the bitch ran over it. If you want to see how sever it is. Nice vid, rn I’m 15 and when I’m 16 (and have the money) I’m wanting to buy a Yamaha R3, Honda shadow 600, or Honda rebel 300. I’m doing some research to find the best option for me and I completely agree about that exhaust 😂

Kolby Hardy. Glad that the video was helpful. My father has a shadow all tricked out (very nice bikes) but I wanted the rebel once I saw their new design simply because I have a picture in my mind of what it will look like at the end of my mods. If you’d like to subscribe I have a few more mod videos and the bike looks a lot different now. There are also a few more mod vids to come as there is still some work to be done to get her to that look I’m after.

MUD SLINGER 2 yeah, I just edited my comment, I didn’t meant to put roger 😂 my dad used to have a 2000 Honda shadow and that was the first bike I had ever ridden on, he had to sell it unfortunately but since then I have had 3 mini bike and am addicted lol, they are real nice bikes. And I’m looking forward to the next upgrades 😁👍🏻

Don’t know how long 10000km is. Obviously I’m not going cross country on a little bobber but I take my fair share of long rides and No issues at all that I’ve seen.

Hey I have a question for you. I keep seeing the same debate in Rebel groups. It’s about if you add a GP shorty to the 300, after time it will cause engine damage and also you need a tune. I say no... others do disagree... what’s your experience in this matter Thanx

I’ve been running mine for almost a year now (city, country and freeway) at all speeds and haven’t had any problems. I didn’t tune it or reject carb or anything. I’ve been wrong before but in my opinion there’s plenty of small pipe before it gets to the shorty to give it enough back pressure. I guess only time will tell but for now she sounds like a beast lol

I was told by a M.C. mechanic that the 300 needed tuned on my CBR300R it has the same 286cc engine. The converter is built in the muffler. I traded for a Rebel 500 that had a shorty pipe on it, but the converter is before the muffler.

Hasn’t yet I’ve had mine on and running hard for a couple years now. Also there’s a couple feet of exhaust before that point so it’s not like you’re running a 8” pipe straight off the heads where it’s sucking cold air back into the valves.

Sterling I would totally recommend a 2017 or newer rebel to anyone. I had a cbr 600rr for a long time but decided that I wanted to do the loud pipe cruise and not the whole death rocket thing anymore. The 300 is awesome I wouldn’t mind the extra hp of the 500 but she’s got plenty of get up and go and for the price I picked her up I couldn’t pass (only had 50mi on it too). I got it totally stock but have done a lot of mods (there’s a lot out there) to get the look and sound I was after. I have Other videos with everything I added. Got her about done and will be coming out with a before and after vid soon if you wanna see the whole new look 360 degrees. If this helped ya smash the like button for me bro.

Waste of $60. I hear no difference between that and a straight pipe. A piece of exhaust tubing with a washer on the end will get you better results and it's adjustable.

Yeah a piece of pipe and a washer would get you the same sound if you want your bike to look like shit! The shorty pipe sounds good and looks good

Also it is basically a straight pipe…. Good call lol… if you remove the muffler and half of the exhaust pipe on any bike you’re basically running a straight pipe. Good detective work on your end ha ha ! The shorty just gives it a little more rumble

@@mudslinger2116 No. You obviously are not good at fabrication. When I make stuff like that, I make it look professionally made. Not just a pipe with stuff welded on it. I expand tubing to the correct diameter and bend it to be tucked in along the swingarm and I use many kinds of baffle material, sometimes welded, sometimes welded, depending on the sound I want. That little piece of junk they want $60 for, now that looks like shit.

I’m an excellent fabricator been doing it when I need something for the past 30 years but for the $60 this is exactly what I wanted and it has a real good sound. If you don’t like the sound don’t buy it.
