Agreed. Looks amazing, pretty much any department with the word "Design" or "Art" in it did an amazing job. But the script.... That barn scene felt like "Oh crap, we forgot to bond, quick, you four, give us your defining personal tradgedy please."

While there's no slacking in the acting, it's the writing that ultimately lets down these movies. Everyone dumping their backstory around the table almost makes sense because no time was given for them in part 1 save for their profiles being run down when captured but they could have spread those out in Scargiver. Nemesis had the most intriguing flashback with a surprising aspect about her gauntlets but they really did her dirty in part 2 given the way it plays out for her using them compared to her Child of Fire performance.

So Snyder pitched a Star Wars movie to Disney & Lucasfilm and they rejected it. Then WB & Whedon ruined his JL & his DCEU. So his master revenge plan is to make his own Star Wars/Firefly ripoff at Netflix. Unfortunately, his revenge plan has spectacularly failed in every way. Watching both Rebel Moon movies made me appreciate the recent Star Wars content even more. Plus, Firefly is still spectacular even to this day.
@eddiek8179
@eddiek8179 9 ай бұрын
Whedon didn't ruin his JL. Whedon just completed what was already shot. 85% of that movie is what Snyder has already shot. He was supposed to give a 2 hour movie and couldn't. And the Snyder cut was merely okay.

@Whatwhatwhat1135 You do realize that I can have my opinion while knowing others may have a different opinion on a given thing and YET still think they cannot be trusted or have terrible taste, right? Both things can co-exist and are not mutually exclusive. This is supposed to be a professional reviewer (more or less) and for them to have a positive take on this is clearly bad movie (which should be obvious to a serious movie lover) is at the very least, makes their stance questionable. No one's denying his opinion and he can have them but people are allowed to question or critic it just based on the content.

It seems that you do or maybe it's the utter lack of critical thinking that is making you unable to parse the information that already explains this whole scenario. Hey doofus, I've already explained that he can have his opinion and we're all free to call out on it because he's publicly stating it as a review. The general consensus is there's a lot of flaws with the movie and it's truly execrable. This is a glaringly obvious bad movie which makes any review that is glowing a little more open to assessment in its merits.

Some of my friends seen Part 2 already and all they feel really positive about it. One of them said that "it wasn't as near to perfection as Snyder's DC Trilogy but two movies more and we'll be really close to that level" so I'm really curious about this movie. Fortunatelly, I've already obtained a gift code for Netflix so I'm gonna watch Rebel Moon on premiere before mentioned friends will spoil me whole fun ^^

Don't mind the critics. Part one was rushed but I think when you watch both parts together it becomes cohesive. People just have unrealistic expectations these days because we're spoiled with too many streaming platforms and movies. Now I would have preferred if both parts were mashed into 1 movie and characters were fully developed.
