This song meant a lot to my late husband. He would listen to it all the time. He would sit and watch it over and over. It touched him in a way I didnt understand at the time. A week before he passed, he met one of the guys from the group at the Cal in vegas. That really made his night. The next night, we went back to the Cal. He saw him again. This time, the same guy who he referred to simply as Baba stopped to shake my husband's hand and told him what's up. I dont know if that guy would even remember that encounter back in October 2019. Probably might just be another night out for him. But for my husband... He was such a fan so for one of them to recognize him as one of the boys from Waipahu...you just dont know what that meant to him. I played this song over and over the night we said goodbye to him forever. I played it at his service with all his boys from back home there to wish him farewell. Every time I hear this song I cry. This will forever be a song that will touch my heart and make me think of him. I love you always honey. Every time I look to the stars, I will know you are there watching over me and our babies.

When this song came out it was instantly a favorite of mine. Before the pandemic when I drove an Uber I always jammed this song especially at night, the customers would love it and ask who the group was. However after seeing this video I finally realize I never knew what the song meant and watching has gave me a new whole new perspective on the lyrics. I can easily say this is the probably the most underrated songs ever released in this history of the recording industry. How can someone not love or vibe with this song.

Losing the LOVE of your life to in any circumstances is such a hard emotion to cope with especially when you feel like people won't understand how much it hurts, but this cut right here, goes to show that there are folks out there who genuinely and sincerely understands and share that hurt and pain that I once experienced at one point in my life. I love this song, it helps me value my family and it especially helps me feel connected to my family back at home in Hawaii. Rebel Souljaz really helps me with feeling connected because I’ve been living in the mainland ever since I was 5 and gradually lost chances of being able to go back to Hawaii. I always get sad that I’m unable to be w/ them, missing out on so much, unable to contact them due to the giant time difference. I always listen to this song and Rebel Souljaz overall because it makes me feel like apart of me is still in Hawaii.
