Police and mostly left wing states want people to follow the see something say something plan to get law enforcement to arrive at a location. Mostly, there are no crimes when Karens make these calls. However, being the police and not always knowing the law (being generous), police come and try to escalate or do NO investigating to see if the calls are valid. LEO's are either too incompetent, simply too lazy, or too indifferent to do their jobs properly.

I live in a town of less than 2000 people and it's very normal behavior for people with a laminated badge to demand you ask permission for anything they're already doing to you. It's very normal behavior to assume you're a criminal just because you're not one of the 1800 people they see day to day. It's very normal behavior for elderly people to be overly upset with any technology being used - especially smart phones. It's very normal behavior for them to be upset about it between using their computer and checking their smart phones. It's very normal behavior for other country bumpkins coming to the defense of their fellow hillbilly like you see here in the comment section below. Moral of the story here is, all of this is very normal and not surprising in the slightest. Just another day at the ole DMV. As long as you take a number, get in line, and follow all the signs, everyone gets on with their day. As soon as one guy tries to disrupt the perfect little obedience created by government institutions - well, the other slaves can't have that nonsense. This is a civilized society. Only the shiny shoes may record us. Only those who hang signs have the power. Everyone else must ask permission. All of this makes sense to the 95% of perfect little school gremlins sucked into over 20 years of sitting up straight and raising their hand before they speak.
