HEY! What was your favorite Elden Ring boss? Mine was Mohg. BIG thanks to Viryl_TV for their help in collecting additional footage and item descriptions for this video (www.twitch.tv/viryl_tv )! And thanks to all the community folk that joined the streams in jolly cooperation, making for some... interesting video capture. We imposed handicaps on boss fights during a NG+ run, so that nothing was killed easily or quickly. See if you can spot or figure out some of our shenanigans. I HIGHLY recommend doing this! It was an absolute blast! More to come! -Tip
@Viryl_TV2 жыл бұрын
The handicaps on bosses was quite fun. My favorite handicap was dual wielding shields against Mohg. It's hard to pick my favorite boss, probably Malenia (minus one bs move and her life leech) or maybe Maliketh. I also enjoyed the Radagon fight, not necessarily on a technical level, just overall. Also glad to see my boy Kratos make it to the party.

For pure fights, it's either Godfrey or Mohg - for sheer spectacle, it's Radahn. Summoning a bunch to join in epic combat? And nothing will ever top the first time I was obliterated by a goddamn meteor. I couldn't do anything except for smile and chuckle, like, how could you get mad over that?

I like the relationship between Morgott and Mohg in regards to how they react to their treatments as omen. One twin chooses the path of reviling the circumstances of their very being and thus clings to and defends a system that shuns them while the other twin rejects that system completely, embraces what they are, and takes steps to forge a completely different one through the most extreme and downright horrifying of methods.

Oh fuck yes! This video is hype. I think Malekith was my favorite boss fight visually and via gameplay, it's a rad fight. But my favorite character and bossfight is Malenia. There's such fierce characterization and devotion and bad assery hidden behind that helmet. I love her, and I love the scarlet rot and her resistance to it to master herself it's honestly a really beautiful story. And then couple that with her relationship with Miquella and it's all just so well done. Maliketh is in his own way tragic, but Malenia hits a bit more. Really well done here! I love the way you characterize Marika and Rennala, it's how I did as well. A lot of the joy I get out of piecing these stories together is from imagining the character's emotions and how they might influence the decisions and history we're presented with.

I can't help watch it, being all like, I like listening to this. And then right at the end, the tarnished rests by a site of grace and Melina arrives. But, she arrives when you rest by the third site of grace, and you can first level up after that. So this tarnished really just said screw exploration, imma speedrun this shit. Impressive, tarnished.
@aquelesousa2 жыл бұрын
Excellent video. The only thing bugging me is the acceptance of "Radagon being Marika" in a literal way, which is something that only happens later in the story as a punishment towards Marika by the Golden Order. I didn't read the japanese text yet, but even the english one, which often comes to be very misguided, is very literal in that explanation.

Farum Azula wasn't always crumbling in the place it is now. The shattering of the ring broke the world in many ways, including the displacement of Farum Azula. Just a small tidbit! You can actually see on the world map the likely place it was ripped from!

I do believe that’s wrong. Farum Azual was always doomed - hence its gradual degradation since the beginning of time. It’s stated multiple times actually.

Hmmm, the Elden Beast (most likely) came from the stars, and Marika's toughest opposing kingdom was Liurnia, where Renala, a powerful sorceress in the art that involved the stars rules. Did Marika, via Radagan, use Renala's art abilities of the stars and gravity to set her plan into motion?
@juliebug57992 жыл бұрын
I wish I could remember exactly what piece of lore it was that said the giants cursed Marika, maybe she split herself into two in order to circumvent that curse, and that is why Radagon has red hair like the giants?

There is one thing you didn't talk about in this video which is the Great tree. It was apparently a tree that existed before the Erdtree and the appearance of the greater will. It existed during the reign of the dragon's god and was probably the expression of its own power over this land. But I understand you didn't talk about it since the only thing mentionning it is an item description. You can also find a different and unique depiction of what seems to be the golden order in a temple situated in Farum Azula though, which is very strange. But is it even the golden order that we know that is depicted here or another order ? Everything concerning the dragon's god and the Great tree is highly speculative though so it make sense not to talk about unsure things. This tree and this ancestral power of life reminds me of Yggdrasil that is the source of all life and the thing that maintain the connection between worlds as well as their stability. An analogy that seems very fitting in my opinion. The greater will and the Erdtree seem to appear as a parasitive alien cosmic power of some sort which would have took the place of the dragon's god and replaced its tree. That could also explain why the dragon's god left after the partial death of Placidusax because Godfrey would have killed him under the order of Marika who is the vessel of the greater will which would actually have ordered that. That would also give a great justification for the dragons' attack on the golden order.
