Hundreds of Rebels bikies from across Australia descended on Canberra for their annual national meeting.
Rebels members gathered in a function center at the old Canberra greyhound racing track and in a nearby motel in Symonston, over the weekend. This track has been unused since the government banned greyhound racing in 2018.
In a striking display of unity, hundreds of Rebels bikies were observed proudly donning their distinctive red and blue skull patches, on tshirts, bikes, vests and jackets.
Law enforcement authorities suspect that the Rebels MC deliberately chose this meet to assert their presence in the region. The gathering served as a demonstration of the club's numerical strength, underscoring their resolve to stand as formidable as any other motorcycle club in Australia. This was also a show of power, strength and unity.
The meeting was held behind closed doors and was declared strictly private. Operating under strict confidentiality, the gathering was prohibited for non-members, outsiders, or uninvited guests.
There was a heavy police presence in the area with officers deployed on the road, on police vehicles and on mobile surveillance towers.
Rebels MC members started arriving in Canberra on Friday 22th of March, and police expected their gathering to extend until Sunday.

Long story but I'd like to share. I remember fondly 34 yrs ago when I got my car license and I had my first drive in freeway up to Newcastle from Sydney. Mum's immaculate 1982 XE Fairmont. Not long after getting used to the floating of the car at 110kmh ( I took the P plates off ) a chapter of these guys came up from behind in formation and I went to left lane and waved them past for which I got the thumbs up from them. Wish that memory was on video I could of shared as they slowly but surely past me.. lots of them with the patches on. Bikes sounded fantastic. Boys and very young men without fathers need role models. If your a kid and living on the street or making a mess of your life ie: have a record as an older juvenile or young adult there is no joining the army, they wont take you (this also needs changing). Yes many criminals are also bikers but there is also a strong argument that bikie membership can help give a wayward young man the direction he needs and the support he would otherwise never find to develop into a better man. A bike club could potentially give a very young man the family he needs to get off the street.
