My hypothesis for the "feet" thing in children's media is that feet are an intimate part of the body without normally being considered sexual at all. So if you have a character that's forced to "reveal" a part of their body, or feel shame about a part of their body, these shows use feet since they're innocent. However the unintended consequence of treating feet as a stand-in for sex organs for years is.... now everyone thinks of feet as a sex organ.

I’m surprised that I’m not the only one who remembers this series. I vaguely recall watching the trilogy pilot on Disney Channel when I was younger, and even getting a few of the McDonald’s toys. It might’ve been a ripoff combination of Bratz and Winx Club, but I do think it had some interesting ideas; like how the gemstone that would appear on a Troll doll’s naval area actually serves a purpose in helping them caste spells. If they just dropped the whole “stylish-teen flare” that was so common during the 2000’s, then it could’ve had potential as an interesting Magical Girl series.

I've come to realize that a lot of fetishists slipped their kinks into kids films and animation. Just look at this, Don Turtelli in Ninja Turtles, and ALL OF DAN SCHNEIDER'S WORK. Just an excuse to exploit kids for hidden kinks that NO ONE would confuse for something sexual -- falling back to the old "feet are funny" excuse. It's legitimately disturbing watching old works with this in mind, and I wish I'd never seen THAT episode of Mindhunters. EDIT: ANNNND I'm actually wearing a Punisher shirt lol but only because I'm a fan of Garth Ennis' take on the character.
@hoodedman65794 жыл бұрын
Don't let Dan Schneider make you paranoid; not every weird or foot-related thing is because of fetishes, most aren't.

I still have that episode of TMNT ('80s-'90s) on VHS. It was weird & funny at the same time (as a kid).
@mastershadowreaper4 жыл бұрын
I think about this all the time. I was born in 95, and watched a ton of Nickelodeon. I have a huge foot fetish and see that it's kinda on the rise. I feel like my generation was kinda manipulated in away by these fuckin freeks and now the fetish grows. Shit literally makes my blood boil and skill crawl. I don't watch any TV or Movies anymore. I don't trust them. How do I know their not doing the same thing but with other sick shit in mind. And plus I just find acting cringy in general. Can't take that shit serious anymore.

Even though Trolls is one of my least favourite DreamWorks Animation films, I’ll give it credit where credit is due. 1. Its character designs on both the Trolls and (especially) the Bergens (since at least their complexions are not eye-strainingly colourful) are hilariously adorable. 2. The Justin Timberlake songs like Can’t Stop the Feeling and *especially* What U Workin’ With are catchy, so with that said, kudos to JT for working with All the Stars singer SZA to make “The Other Side” (not the first song with that title and it may not be the last either)!
@brianlevine8714 жыл бұрын
Haven't seen the recent' "Trolls" movies, but yeah I much prefer their designs over the 'classic' look. At least Dreamworks made them look genuinely cute.
@girlscanbedrummers54494 жыл бұрын
Personally I don't. I think the design's look really obnoxious and overly designed and they gave them some really weird little noses which make them look like some sort of munant animal hybrid. I prefer my "ugly" Dam troll dolls ironically I just find them more charming over those giant headed, brightly colored eye raping garbage called trolls anyday and I just really think it's more creepy that certain toy franchises have to be "cutened" in order to appeal to kids.
