CG animation short film.
An old man reflects on his past, having spent his entire life within the confines of a spacecraft. He wonders when the time will come for him to find the true purpose of his life.

This was terrifying. What complete loneliness. The story reminds me of the film Prometheus. Very well done.

extremely good textures on the hands and face. the old man’s face especially was very good, made it past the uncanny valley and was clearly headed towards something comfortably human! the plot itself is both bizarre and yet completely understandable? like “why would they do it like THAT” while at the same time recognizing that the scope of the film itself is very small in terms of the scale of the operation and that there’s a lot we simply don’t see, and yeah it’s silly to raise an entire human only to use them as fertilizer (altho we do have many excellent microorganisms in our personal microbiomes) but that clearly isn’t the POINT of the piece. it’s not hard science fiction, it’s a fable, an illustration. very cool. certainly made me think. also i nearly choked when the cube exploded, i didn’t see that coming.

Stark. But I guess it's better than nothing if "something happened where they were." Pretty lonely and forlorn child. Do we imagine that he spawns an ecosystem ?

Oh my heart this is so beautiful! I loved all the nuances of his character also - like keeping his childlike innocent movements even as an old man. This is so lovely🌱

@mattrouleau9487 wow that's crazy. I'm sure it was a lot of hard work. All of the fame goes to you then.again I thought it was awesome..I don't have alot of free time but when I do I really enjoy just watching movie shorts on youtube. Its ones like yours that keep me on my ongoing journey to find that good one every now and then.

Surprised me with the ending. Well done. Great animation, story. I really wish someone would take on the challenge of Titan. Would love to see this animated. John Varley, my favorite author. (Has 2 sequels after that) 😃

Wow, what a brilliant film. The isolation and vulnerability of the man-child was palpable. The ending really crept up on me, excellent story, well told. Just one niggle I had was that the narrator was a younger man when it clearly should have been the voice of an older man. I found this quite distracting which broke immersion but the film's other strengths made up for it.
