Fantastic Job. Love how you make this seem doable for those of us still on fence about reborning. The close ups were clear and you really are a great teacher!!

+TheDessyrose Thank you very much! It's certainly doable, but very time-consuming. So make sure you leave yourself several days to work on it so you don't have to rush. :) If you're really on the fence about reborning, check out my 5 Never Fail Rules of Reborning. You are the absolute best in describing how to root. I was so scared to even attempt it even though I had bought everything in order to root, just couldn’t bring myself to try it, that is until I found your videos and you describe the process and show it and make it seem so easy and that anyone can do it. I’m still trying to figure out the best way to do the swirl at the crown, but everything else honestly helps my anxiety and I can pretty much just kinda escape and sit for hours rooting hair. Now cutting it to make it look like normal baby hair, im afraid that is what I am really going to mess up.

This was so helpful I loved the close ups of the rooting and the needle barbs I could actually see what was happening. Another wonderful video thank you Kim!!

so many of the videos instruct you to EVENLY space the hairs. That looks LITERALLY like doll hair and makes no sense. Your videos are great. You are a wonderful instructor. You bring class to all your videos

I’ve been a subscriber for quite some time now so I’ve watched most if not all of your videos. I would normally make this comment on one of your most recent videos but I’m watching this one at this time. Kim, you have a very gentle voice when explaining everything. You have a calming voice as well. So I love listening to your videos. Also you have a twin here in Michigan. This woman looks like you sounds like you to a tee! It’s kinda scary. And I miss her a lot. She lives a few streets away however it’s a long story, but in a nutshell her husband has a short leash on her if you understand that. I don’t see her anymore. Very sad. But on a happy note it’s always a pleasure watching your videos. Take care. Jennifer from Michigan

I have a question. I know it's going to be based on how you root, how thick vs root a loop and micro rooting but how much hair should you expect to buy for a 19" newborn? I can't seem to find any videos to give any ideas to this. Thanks for the videos I love watching you!
@linnyroro31772 жыл бұрын
I know this was a question from years ago and I’m sure you have now figured it out, but for anyone else wondering about the amount I’ll answer what I did. I saw that all the bundles usually came in 1/4ounce or 1/2 ounce and so I bought 4 colors all different shades of blonde in the 1/2 ounces. I’ve done 2 babies and will most likely have enough hair to do 4-5 more at least, and maybe even more than that because you really don’t realize how much even 1/4 ounce of hair is until you see it. I have a order of some really good quality mohair in shades like a white blonde for lanugo hair and a gorgeous strawberry blonde and a carrot top red all coming from Russia(I’m praying it actually gets shipped) and that it gets here in a timely manner, not 6-8 months like some people are telling me it might take. Others have said it usually takes this seller’s hair to get to the US in about a month or so, but with the current situation over there at the moment, I’m not sure if it’s ever going to even me shipped. I am sure shipping hair is the last thing on her list of things at the moment.

Kim, I've been looking through the reborn rooting videos on youtube, looking specifically for the very fine, sparce pattern of newborn hair. While the ones I'm finding are helpful for thicker, longer hair, I can't find any that demonstrate the way to root the first baby hair. I can root more sparsely but I still have to cut it. I don't want to end up with a "haircut" look but a natural one, and I don't know how to cut it to look like it's just starting to grow in. Hair painting captures this look but I want actual hair. This really new hair barely shows in some places but it's so sweet. Have you done a tutorial covering this? If not, would you consider doing one?

+NuHoangThanhnu TraiTaoThomusa Which glaze did you receive? If the glaze was thick or sticky, it probably had dried out. If its acrylic, you may be able to revive it with water. But if you just bought it, I'd suggest seeing if you can return it because it shouldn't be sticky like that when it's new. I'm sorry that you had to go through that.

how does the hair not come off the head after rooting? I'm brand new to reborns
@Customdollbabycom9 жыл бұрын
+nadiasmom10 Reborns are made out of a soft vinyl. The elasticity of the vinyl helps hold the hair in. Then we use a water-proof glue inside the doll head to hold the hair in place. If the vinyl is too thin or too hard, the hair will fall out. I've been through a few defective dolls that wouldn't root properly. :/ Good question!

I think I made a booboo and need some advice.... I put my paper glaze on my dolls lips BEFORE I did my matte varnish.... can I still apply it and then bake with the paper glaze on it?
@Customdollbabycom9 жыл бұрын
+Tonya McFarland I can't make any promises, but I've baked dolls with air dry gloss varnish on them and the varnish was fine. It gets sticky when it is hot, so try to avoid letting the doll come into contact with hair or dust until she has cooled. Good luck! :)
