As far as the step flashing, as roofers my father and I always installed the step flashing as we installed the shingles along side the chimney, and afterward we would cut a channel in the brick 6” off the roof parallel to the roof and brake a copper counter flashing, cover the step flashing with tar to prevent electrolysis, and insert the copper into the channel and it would cover over the top of the step flashing. Then we would caulk the channel to seal the top of the copper counter flashing. I noticed the roof is not installed yet, so maybe that’s the way he is going to do it as well. I’ve seen people use tin, or aluminum to counter flash as well. We just liked how the copper stood up to Wisconsin weather.

Couldn't help but notice you didn't use rebated and socketed chimney liners, so nothing to stop the condensate vapour running down and into the brickwork and the same structural failure, your wasting your time and your clients money,

Nice job the finished product looks great but I’m curious why you had to do the acid wash instead of just brushing the mortar off before it dried fully?

AWESOME WORK! Alliance Chimney (Delco PA)wants to charge 6k-9k just for a chimney liner. 2-1/2 story building 2 flue structure chimney(share with neighbor). Are we to believe rebuilding a chimney is only $1,500?
@-clif1987Ай бұрын
This took him at least a week. With good weather. You pay to get it done. No company can leave your roof open that long.

Why Americans house has chimney? For what?
@jerryraye1109Ай бұрын
Well in America when we ride our Harley Davidson to the kitchen while smoking a marlorboro to cook some bacon and drink a Budweiser, we found out it can be very unhealthy without proper ventilation, so we have chimneys. We don’t want the world thinking we’re unhealthy people!
