That's a good tip about the oil strainer, I'm in the facilities maintenance field and I see little hidden strangers forgotten all the time

I use to work on these everyday and learned a lot to make them dependable, but I always loved working and riding the metric bikes, thanks again hope you have enjoyed this mini series

Ohhh!!! one thing i didn't Notice is that DR 250 doesn't have a Hole in their Crank Case whe're you put the Oil inside ahhhhhh soo basically that Tank in the Chasis is for the Engine Oil

Suzuki felt the dry sump was a better fit so no matter the orientation of the motor it was getting oil and not starving it. example would be going up steep hill, in a wet sump the oil would go to the back of the engine and away from the pick up and that would cause a loss of oil pressure. the dry sump will supply oil in this situation. thanks for watching!

I have a Suzuki DR250 just like that buyed it from the old man in the near by village here in Philippines and i was planing on restoring it and one thing that intrigues me is that (Tank) in the chasis Basically i don't know what to put in there cause i haven't check out the engine yet and clearly it's not for Some Water/Coolant cause i don't think DR 250 have some water jacket in their cylinder blocks like the Honda's and you put an engine Oil in it gladly i'ved seen this video cause i really don't know what to put in there i just wanna make sure is it engine oil ? And how many (ML) did you put??

The DR's are air cooled so there is no water/coolant used on them. the oil does go in the frame because the motor is a dry sump motor, usually when you drain out all the drains and change filter 2 quarts, (about 1800 ml) will put you really close on the full mark after about 5 minutes of running after the change.
