It absolutely blows my mind that these hacks that "rebuild" cars act like it's so hard and half ass everything...taking the few extra MINUTES to do it right makes a world of difference... accidents can and will compromise the safety of these vehicles, especially modern vehicles with all the airbags and shit...I don't do body work, but I work on cars and have for 15 years...I NEVER half ass anything. It's not worth it to save a few minutes and bucks. I use OEM parts, or parts made by the same manufacturer that made the OEM parts...Scott, thank you for taking your time and doing it right. As always, another excellent video! I must admit that all manufacturers have their pros and cons but I still choose to hate on Ford for one primary reason and it is the difficulty of finding parts. Looking for a simple dipstick or an ABS sensor etc? Year, make model and sometimes engine size for all other manufactures and any parts store can handle it. Ford? Oh no! Year, model, month, which plant, day of week, hour of day, was it leap year, VIN number, cage code, blood sample, first born, much cussing and threats of violence and maybe you'll eventually acquire a part. ..even then it's usually the wrong one.

I know why the crash bar is weld and bolted. I work at the ford assembly that built that and worked that job installing the crash bar. Its weld because when its installed its pull on a rack with the inner dash structure as it goes down the the line. The front frame structure is added and a robot picks all the pieces aligns everything up and welds them as one. The bolts dont get added till the end on the line in body before paint
@vehcor4 жыл бұрын
That still doesn't explain the bolts. Why not more welds? Why put bolts in? It's not like you can remove the part by removing them. It's a Ford thing, I guess I just don't understand. lol So I make fun of it, just like the stupid glued on fenders! Some of the F250s have so much glue you can ruin a fender trying to remove them. I've usually found Fords to have more parts or be more complicated than their GM competitors. For the longest time, GMs were so much simpler in so many ways. They still are in terms of the trucks sticking to pushrods instead of complicated DOHC setups. Ford wiring harnesses also tended to splay out all over while GM and others made them more streamlined and simple.

Where do you go to learn how to take all of these vehicles apart ?
@vehcor4 жыл бұрын
To the shop. Taking them apart is easy and really takes very little skill. The real work starts in the structural parts of the car. For that I have plenty of ICAR training. It is why you don't see me making the same mistake other "rebuilders" do. I would probably do the same if the people smarter than me had not shown me the correct way and why.

How is the mustang project looking, any updates soon, now Vtuned is also building a resto mod, knowing from previous coments you seem to really like his work, it would be great to see a build off see who comes out with a better car and better quality work

Love it!!! When’s the bidding for this exploder ? I need to bid on this?
@vehcor4 жыл бұрын
No bidding on this one. When it is done I will post the price and the first person with the money drives it home. If you miss out, I do have more parts so I can build another one (and probably will). Thanks for the support!
