I have actually had all the parts to re assemble but I am being picky about the paint and havent found the right cream-white color. Plus between 2 surgeries last year nd now the embolisms, yea finding time and energy for it is yaing to say the least. Still gotta do my regular job too ya know, LOL.

@@DIYwithUncleCy where did you wind up finding your carb kit? And I'm sure it'll look great when its done hope to see more updates on the saw. And hope you get to feeling better

Thats a great saw! I have a couple. My current runner is set up with dual 22" bars. The chain will only get oiled if you use the bar on the left side sprocket. Just stick the bucking spikes in and pull up on the rear handle as much as you want, the harder you pull the better it cuts and the chips get bigger lol.

I do intend to get back and finish this guy but as it is not a pressing matter, it may be a while. Usually do stuff like that over the winter.

I have my Grandgather's David Bradley 360 saw from the 50's. All original except for sparkplug and carb kit. Still runs great. Gets run a few times a year just for f7n these days. Beast of an old saw!

I'm suprised that you got all the bolts/screws out without breaking one or rounding out a slot. I like to use a pressure washer on the really greasy grimy stuff if I'm doing a complete tear down, works great and saves time doing clean up of reassembly. Great Video
@DIYwithUncleCy5 жыл бұрын
To be honest, so was I. I was holding my breath on a couple of them. Pressure washer is a great Idea, probably use that on the other one, thanks for the tip.

Just to be on the safe side, I would recommend a hollow ground flat head screwdriver.

I already have it ordered. And I found a magneto set complete with points so by mid June this bad boy should be going.

I've got a few old gear drive David Beadley like that, it's 1/2 pitch chain. Hard to find. They are good running saws but very heavy. I have a 16inch bar on one, a 30inch on another and a 28inch bow bar on the last one.
@DIYwithUncleCy5 жыл бұрын
Yep, after a little checking I did verify it is 1/2 inch pitch. I was just guessing in the video because it looked close to the Mal12A that I have.

I am curious on how fast the gear drive turns. I have two I was thinking Minnie bike motor
@DIYwithUncleCy5 жыл бұрын
Well these old dudes are rated for Max RPM of 4000, and the gear reduction id 3.2 to 1. So 4000/3.2=1250 rpm at the sprocket. Not fast but the gear reduction will give ya hell-a torque I would think. Its 77cc so should pull a small go cart fairly easily.
@stevetaylor92655 жыл бұрын
Thanks. That carb is a tilason (not spelled right) if you can't find a kit through the normal channels look at the go kart sights. Think they still use them

This is probably a long shot on here but I am searching for the 360 casing itself or a parts saw with a good casing. I have my great grandfather's DB 360 with the 22" bar but he also passed down a 6 foot, 2 man bar and chain with it. After sitting in a barn with chemicals and all manner of stuff for probably 40 years or more, some of the underside casing has been disintegrated including the bottom part of the gear housing itself.. the Carb is fine but the bottom plate and support are almost gone, the bottom of the main gear is exposed and the mount for the bottom of the foward handle is gone so the bolt is in the teeth of the main gear.. I am a craftsman so I can make a custom built housing and brackets to solidify it and protect the gear and carb from damage but I wonder what would be the cheapest yet sufficient fix.

I have one of these in brand new condition. WARNING: Ear muffs are not enough! This is THE LOUDEST machine you will ever operate. It's like POW,,,pu POW-POW, pu POW POW!!! Sounds like you are shooting a gun with your ear right along side the barrel. Wear ear plugs AND muffs. Also, compared to todays saws, it's a "Man Killer".
