Someone supply the kid with a real frame machine and a measure system besides a tram, and then the hours/days spent test fitting can be spent cleaning his shop.
@Chasman20104 жыл бұрын
Not really. He took the easy way and did a shitty job. You can’t section nor straighten a frame rail as it’s made from high strength steel. You have to replace entirely from the firewall. That’s why most cars with a bend or kink frame are totaled.
@charleshowlett12914 жыл бұрын
That's true, convoluted and tensile strength designed to absorb impact and disburse energy. That is why the service manual shows whole rail replacement and sections are not available from parts dept. hence the boneyard scavenge. Sweet car cobbed together. No wonder insurance companies will not underwrite salvage cars. But hey! Your gaps look great 👍
@plektosgaming4 жыл бұрын
@@Chasman2010 Actually you can if it's only the bumper sections and reinforce it enough. If it's actually load-bearing, yes, you are toast. In a crash, the bumpers are going to do the exact same thing again so it hardly makes a difference. IME, you have about 2-6 inches at the extremes that can actually be put back together like this, though alignment is a real PITA. Good luck with the panels lining up - lol. It'll take a miracle to get right.
