Rebuilding a Lexus RX330 that was previously hacked up

Time to find the end of the bondo in this adventure and fix it the right way. I had not originally planned on going this far into the "quick flip" but sometimes you have to go a little further to make it right. Toyota rockers are always friendly to work on which makes this job easier.

I actually am usually pretty calm. Even in emergencies when everyone is panicked. Being in this business, that has come in handy multiple times. I used to get very worked up when things went wrong. If I could share one of the most important lessons I have ever learned it would be that overreacting to problems only makes them worse. Great video! The Mr. Spotty story reminds me of the parrot who had a foul mouth and would always say insulting things at the worst times. After multiple warnings didn't work, the owner put him in the freezer for an hour, as promised. I wondered if anyone else saw Mr Spotty in the A pillar on the previous episode. He probably needed to be to be pilloried. Oops wrong pillar. I just about split a gut when you broke out the duct tape. I knew that wouldn’t slide by. Another great bargaining chip to use with Mr Spotty would be to keep a an extra roll of 3M ScotchBlue around. That’ll keep him inline. I did see some more Mr Spotty tees in the last few scenes. Keep up the great work.

Yep, I actually didn’t realize I edited out the part where I removed him in the last episode. Viewers mentioned it and I got a good laugh. I figured I would give them some closure. 😂I think Mr Spotty will behave for a while but I’ll keep the ScotchBlue handy just in case. The waiting “A” list replacement should scare him.

Nice work as usual! I worked for a Lexus dealer body shop for two years and have done more RX quarter panels than I can recount. Most of our work was five year old vehicles or newer, but we’d still see a decent amount of those second gen RX models because they just run forever. One tech had one as his daily driver and had like 240k on it with no issues.

Have you heard of a "joggling tool"? I use it to put a step in the car panels when fitting in sections. It produces an overlapping fit without welding plates on the back of the cut edges.
