It's interesting how thinner sheet metal folds up and crumples like that. I had a fender bender in my 1990 911 and the thick metal barely reacted. My 2016 A7, in the same color as this might not fare so well too.

We use a Hobart mig welder. Had it for a while now with almost zero issues. Would definitely recommend it.
