I agree Leigh, imbalanced braking can cause the car to spin, one wheel will start braking before the other, feels like torque steer but more aggressive. Very dangerous in the wet.

I’d like to think they accessed the thickness and age of the existing disc. You can get Brake discs skimmed, some times not always necessary to replace a good disc. I agree it’s safer, but at $900 a refurb can be an option

that brake disc would come pretty greasy to protect against corrosion, good idea is to use some brake cleaner or other degreaser before use. Peace!

When you take off the wheels just a tip, to clean the rotor, get a wire brush attachment to a drill and buff the rotor and in between the studs to get rid of any rust, I learned this while workin at Discount Tire
