While that engine is out consider changing the rear main seal that is likely where the oil was coming form hitting the clutch. Also, an oil pump would be good while everything is easily accessible. Keep up the great work fellas.

You guys should use rust conversion solution after cleaning the parts of rust then the correct primer for the metal type then paint as the rust will return under the fresh paint. I have had great results with Kurust don't know if you get it over there but I put it on all steel parts I have wire brushed it takes supposedly three hours to do its thing as it's a white liquid then it turns blue when it's put on rust then goes black once the reaction is finished but you must prime and paint it after or if it's a chassis I have just put black chassis waxoil straight over the top and my stuff is still in good condition.
@OutJeeping6 жыл бұрын
You guys should have done the head gasket too. Also use primer when you are painting otherwise it will just flake off. Anyway good job.

Great work, I'd have gotten new freeze plugs just cause how cheap they are. after painting it, the new freeze plugs just look good installed . Just a suggestion when you take down an engine to its long block bare. Love your work. in the white rubicon build, how much did you pay for the frame puller work? was that free?
@RocHopn6 жыл бұрын
Hey guys don't use Teflon tape for that metal pipe that comes from the water pump up towards the valve cover. Use thread sealer. You can get our any auto parts store. It's white. Mark my words, coolant will leak with the thread tape.

Why aren't you guys upgrading some of the cheaper easier components since you have her out and open? Like some new higher performance springs that will take a flash/sportier timing a bit nicer etc. Or a port and polish, heavier injectors, more open intake, etc? Just wondering as the usual hardest issues is getting around it or having to pull her guys out to do a particular upgrade. Anything cheap to get some small gains and also further prevent an issue down the line with some new shiny cylinders and such. Keep up the videos, you guys are doing great and I have to say I love watching. Channel is growing quite a bit and we're cheering you on.

I agree I would have done the rear main why you had the chance....and also just because of OCD...lol...I would have tossed a coat of paint on the bolt head for the valve head cover. The nice shiny cover and rusty bolts 🤢
@Kncklhed6 жыл бұрын
FYI, the dirtymax wheels wont fit the F-250. Ford uses a metric bolt pattern. Chevy and Dodge will interchange, along with Ford if the ford is 99 or older. 2000 and up Ford is 8x170mm. Another thing, whatever you spent on the oil pan was wasted $. Wire wheel it, rust convert it, paint it, put it back on.

Quinn Browne theyre good to get the job done quick, but they dont last for a long time as a craftsman would.

I agree with the other guy literally one time use just for emergency just get Craftsman on sale lifetime warranty and fairly cheap
@LDMco6 жыл бұрын
Alex Podolsky exactly. Good to get the job done quick and cheap, but not good to do the job repeatedly. Invest in better tools if you plan on using them more regularly or more harshly.

The engine at the start is not the V6 petrol out of the Rubicon? it looks like a straight 6? also you made the valve cover nice and shiny with new paint and then you put those old rusty bolts back in sort of does not look as nice. Can I suggest a ultra-sonic parts cleaning machine like you can put bolts and screws in it and it heats the water inside the container and it loosens all the dirt and rust of bolts and stuff. www.ebay.com.au/i/142473096355?chn=ps
