Hey guys, Richard here. I am sure you know but just a reminder to put the bags of packing peanuts back into the front of the boat. They prevent hull from filling with water and sinking. Could have used your structural panel bond adhesive to glue things back together as well as epoxy resin with filler specific for marine applications. Running that boat will be a blast but use your head and don’t push your limits. It takes one mistake and you could be crippled or worse. Looking good. Have fun and stay safe.

Hey guys, I love watching ur videos up here in Ontario Canada. Just had a couple suggestions 1. Put an inline sand filter on the main water line coming off the jet pump to eliminate junk getting in the cooling system. 2. Change it to closed loop cooling and add heat exchangers so the engine is running coolant not dirty lake water.

On jet boats there’s a sequence to running it on water. Start engine Start water Shut off water Shut off engine Doing it otherwise in any other order will flood the engine with water through water jacketed exhaust since it’s an open loop cooling system!

All the flood cars, boats, jet ski's, and snowmobiles I have purchased, I always drain all fluids, take out the spark plugs, and let the engine force out all the oil/gas/water/muck to prevent compressing anything in the crankcase that could cause catastrophic engine issues. Haven't had a engine I couldn't recover by fogging, running transmission fluid through the engine to clean it out, and oil change flush out the engine out a couple times. This has saved me thousands of dollars doing these steps over saying "just crank it and let's see."

Gday guys, Remember to start with a thin strip of glass cloth, then the next wider, then the next wider again. That way each layer of cloth outer edge is able to bond to the original hull structure. You need to grind more of that edge away through the paint. The glass won’t adhere well to the painted surface. Also if you are doing a repair like on the corner of the rear transom. You can grind it back and to remove the moisture, if there is some in the cloth, by really wetting it with acetone. The acetone will evaporate and carry away the water in the repair area. Then fix it quick with a hot brew. Piece of cake 👌👌 Cheers from Australia 👍😃

Try using wax paper to help hold on the fiber glass to the boat hull. It sounds weird, but it works pretty well. Also, if put talcum powder on your arms, it will help prevent getting the fiberglass itches. When done wash up with cold water to close up your skin pores.

Wouldn't it be more effective to build a partition and fill it with expandable foam?
@puirYorick4 ай бұрын
@@RogerM88 Ultimately, hell yes! I just don't expect these lads to do the right thing most times until they do it the quick and easier way first. At least a minimally workable system like what the original builder used (hopefully with better bags) will see them safely through a test drive to make sure their fibreglass patches are solidly watertight. Later, they should do that front hull with a proper expanding foam job as you said.

@fredericrike59744 ай бұрын
Guys, some pickle fork drivers are starting to have a movable wing mounted between the pickle forward points to help keep the front end from flipping it over at speed. Awesome project, but I too have no idea how a boat in an accident while being trailered managed to get many gallons of water into the oil system. However that happened, you really ought to figure out before you go full on racing it. Simeon has the right idea on the water feed to the intercooler- there may be a thermostat involved. Further, that water control is very important- too high a flow will not cool the motor, just like too little- get those gauges up and running soon, and watch them like hawks. Work on getting some history- contact APBA for one.
